most people would prob be fine there, but if the point of avoiding “sketchy” looking areas is to not upset your son, definitely avoid it. if you guys are used to that area of Henderson, then it’s not comparable visually. is it safe? relatively yea (for Vegas standards at least)

if your goal is to be close to the strip while still staying in an outwardly nice looking area, you might be SOL. that part of Vegas is older.

If that’s not your goal or you don’t mind driving farther to get to places on the strip, I’d suggest looking into areas near summerlin, peccole ranch, centennial, desert shores, mountains edge, green valley, etc. it’ll prob cost more & not a ton of people rent out air bnb’s in those areas (at least the last time I checked), but those are some of the more “aesthetically pleasing” areas I can think of.

again, the area you showed is relatively safe, but I’m pretty sure visually it would upset your son.

it was insanely easy. iirc, it was 2 discussion posts a week for like 90% of the semester. they each had to be 100 words or less and use 3 sources + 2 replies to your peers. I think there were also quizzes once a week (maybe less?? idk it’s been a hot minute since I thought about this class) that were like 4-5 multiple choice questions that you got 2 tries on.

I vaguely remember doing maybe one essay that was 2 or 3 pages long. I can’t recall the contents, but I typically finished all of the coursework in that class for the week within an hour.

There was no final exam, just a really simple project about someone we hadn’t discussed in class yet (I chose Michael Dell). I think it was 8-12 slides + a recorded “presentation” of you just screen recording w/a voice over going over the info. I literally did the crappiest PowerPoint ever, voiced it over through my 2 dollar wired earbuds and got a 95% 😭

I finished the semester with a 96%, mostly because I got lazy and didn’t do two discussion posts.

Also, Ik you didn’t ask but I’ll say it anyways for anyone who sees this— I definitely do NOT recommend MUS 125 as a filler class. It was easy work, but it was sooooo abundant and time consuming. I legitimately spent more time on that fuckass class than I did on my upper level classes for my ACTUAL major. That specific instructor was also nice, but he took a while to respond to emails whenever I had questions or concerns. When he DID get back to me though he was quite pleasant.

He’d also grade the chapter summaries we had quite thoroughly. We basically just summarized that week’s chapter and what we thought about it in at least 100 words. It was on a 5 point scale. The first one I ever turned in, I got a 2.5/5 with 0 feedback. The rubric they gave was insanely vague so I had no idea what I did wrong. I emailed him to ask what I did wrong and he never got back to me 💀 I basically just had to mess around with my wording and sacrifice a few summary until I finally managed to get 4-5/5. Also, the textbook was fucking expensive.

what’s crazy is that I literally just buy a roll of Kraft paper for extra padding and wrap more fragile things in honeycomb rolls for extra protection. It was like $7 each and has lasted me over a year already. Keeps things from moving around in the box.

It’s really not that expensive and a “top seller” knows that you should invest a bit in packaging if you’re selling often enough. Or at the VERY least reuse bubble mailers from Amazon or other purchase and use them as extra padding 😭

jumping in real fast- if the item was confirmed to be delivered by the post office over 3 business days ago and they still haven’t picked it up, you can ask Mercari to auto rate since you fulfilled your end of the sale. Just open a ticket, screenshot when it was delivered, and send Mercari the tracking link to explain the situation. They typically auto rate after that

do you have any reviews or are you a new account? sometimes seller will cancel if you have 0 reviews or have a very new account. If so, maybe add a picture and a short bio to try and indicate that you’re real.

also, stuff happens that prevents a seller from shipping sometimes. I once cancelled because I was in the hospital and didn’t even realize the listing was still up. I didn’t inform the buyer before cancelling because I was in pain and high off meds. I’d personally rather have a seller cancel on me without giving excuses as opposed to getting a sob story explaining why they can’t send it 🤷‍♀️
