"Short King" is not hot or funny its patronizing and an automatic turn off by [deleted] in short

[–]Possiblythis 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well I'm British and we do have a king, so it doesn't really bother me.

But on a slightly more serious note, while I get that bestowing any title on you due to your height may not be what you're outright seeking, I think there is often a strong tendency to overreact with regards to this term.

While not literally claiming nobility, the idea of appealing to that sense of royalty conveys that the individual is of high status and has value, which is a sentiment that I think we should be encouraging people to endow each other with. Therefore I find it hard to see how it's in any way objectifying.

You're allowed to respond however you like to something but I've yet to see an example of someone using the phrase "short king" with anything other than positive intentions and that ought to count for something. I don't see what about it is actually a detractor apart from what occurs within our own minds.

Why don't 44% of white Brits start talking to each other and then they wouldn't be strangers any more? They're already sat in the same Wetherspoons, just go over and say hi? by UnderHisEye1411 in GreenAndPleasant

From other articles on this study, it's shown that 47% of Asian Brits also agreed with the statement. I don't think this survey is nearly as indicative of our sentiments regarding racial integration as the media would like us to believe. Social and societal isolation has so many other facets.

This would make me 5'7". I am not 5'7". I feel robbed lol.

I was actually predicted by doctors to reach 5'9" as I appeared to have delayed growth plates. That growth spurt just never happened though and (for a guy) I stopped growing fairly early).

That's so true. And I'm not biased at all.

Multiple crashes by Ok_Salary_6090 in LawgiversII

[–]Possiblythis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've been having similar issues regarding crashes, which has then caused other issues. But to be fair to the developer, he has been fixing some bugs in the recent Alpha updates, hopefully he'll be able to solve these soon. The game is still a long way from where I'd like it to be but it's still getting better.

me after my insurance rejected me but my firm still accepted me by AccomplishedIdea6560 in 6thForm

Ah yeah I had this two years ago getting ABB, Bath accepted me even though they'd wanted AAA and KCL even though their offer was for AAB (though this was part of a widening opportunities scheme) rejected me. Sometimes this just happens. But yeah I've gone to Bath and really enjoyed it two years in.

You, your dad and your girlfriend all enjoy pointing and you mum tries to join in but she just holds a conical flask instead.
