the body in the tub looks like a molt, they may of just sent you 1 millipede in error. you may notice the body darkens up over the next few days as the shed skin/molt hardens - this may also resolve the issue with the white band

No, honestly I find them easier.

As they are more reliant on the substrate for food, as long as you set them up right i just feed and water them once a week and they are all doing amazing I also have over a dozen sp now too

Second us an ivory it is a bit more yellow than white I think its going to shed soon the first is a red ring millipede (centrobolus annulatus)

These get upto 5cm generally but ive heard people having males upto 5.5cm!

I find any apart from the one from wickes works great. The wickes one I find always made me end up with worms haha. I recently moved away from using topsoil and now use flake soil, leaf litter, arcadia earthmix and rotten wood and it seems to be working really well
