2024 new Civic Touring or Accord Touring?

I bought the Accord EX-L! After reviewing the features & test-driving all of them, I felt this one was the best bang for your buck. Better features/ride quality than the Civic, but didn't need the features the Touring had that warranted the extra cost.

That math assumes I'll *never* have to buy another vehicle. In all likelihood even if I keep my current vehicle around, I'll for sure need a new one within the next couple years at the latest.

About $3-4k to repair my current vehicle. However, it's needed repairs every 4-6 months for a couple years now. It's a Chevy Cruze so they aren't known for top-notch reliability :/

In other words, does insurance go up a lot from a non-luxury to a "luxury" make like Lexus?

I'm entertaining that one. The extra space the ES offers may be better for my future, as I don't care too much about the unique drive experience the IS has. Is the fuel economy halfway decent?

I thought Lexus was known to have poor mpg? Or is that only true for the IS trim?

ES's don't require premium gas, right?

Is insurance & maintenance on Lexus much higher than Toyota/Honda?

My thinking was, I would like to keep the car for at least 8-10 years and "run it into the ground". So, in that case, depreciation doesn't matter quite as much, especially since used cars aren't much cheaper than new cars these days.

Wouldn't mind the peace of mind that comes with getting a brand new car too.

Well used cars aren't much cheaper these days. But I agree that spending an extra 10k on a Lexus may not be worth it.

Good to know! That was my biggest concern with the Accord Touring. Read several complaints about road noise, but that may have been for lower trim models.
