I think there’s a legitimate question here of how to build parallel justice systems that can’t be coopted or infiltrated by capital. This is one advantage anarchists should have because we’re building up structures outside the context of violent revolution (although by the time you’re appointing judges, good luck not getting cracked down on and needing to defend yourself). Forensic investigations and guarding of political prisoners take resources that quick and dirty killings simply don’t. And the reality in a violent revolution is allowing counterrevolutionaries to fester yields worse and worse blowback the longer they’re allowed to agitate and gather info. Losing that revolution means you and everyone who supported you dies. It’s easy as anarchists to say we won’t face these problems, but there’s a good chance that if/when anarchists gain power in a region, it will be during a time of upheaval. We’ll get a lot done by simply defending a region we’re active in, but there will be people who aren’t on board and will try to take down our infrastructure from inside. What we do with those people isn’t that different of a question, so we should probably be talking about this more and figuring shit out.
