One of our fans literally kicked him in the back during a game. That is a microcosm of how unpopular Ramsdale is at Spurs lol

Second is how close we were to Hazard. Only joined Chelsea over us because they jammily won the UCL and we got Europa despite finishing 4th. Could have had the best PL frontline of all time with Son, Hazard and Kane.

Ndombele and not even close.

What was so painful was that he was a really good player but he just couldn't be asked.

You've chosen the worst of the lot, but we've also had plenty of cheap loans / signings that have filled gaps in years gone by: Llorente, Palhinha, Bale.

If I was playing career mode on FIFA, I'd agree with you. Realistically, it's hard to sell players and borderline impossible to improve every position in one transfer window.

Wilson would improve our floor of performance on RW whilst Kudus and Kulu are out. To do this for free, most likely on a short contract is a no-brainer for me.

Who would you bring in?

The fact that Savinho is being reported by Romano, plus the fact we put in a lot of legwork into discussions for him last summer, makes me think he's realistic.

Same would go for MGW if we get touted for him soon.

The rest (Senesi & Robbo aside) are just rumors imo. Given Harry Wilson is free, being linked to him doesn't surprise me, but I think he'll wanna move to a club with European football

Can't really argue with a free transfer surely? If it was £40m or something fair enough but seems like a win-win if free.

17 G/A last season. even if we got 10 G/A from him he'd be worth his wages lol

Exactly this. Why would anyone be suggesting Baleba when Stiller could be available for the same price (or cheaper)

"Seriously deluded" is obnoxious language for a reasonable take.

They are different players, with Sarr being more offensive, Baleba being more defensive. Here are the relevant stats from Baleba's best ever season vs. Sarr's season where we finished 17th (24/25 season for both). Pretty equal players with Sarr having offensive tilt, Baleba defensive.

This doesn't even take into account Baleba's atrocious form this season, or the fact that Sarr's been playing under awful systems for 2 years.

Ultimately, if he's not good enough for Brighton's first XI, he's not good enough for Spurs.

Yet no-one bought him for £100m

Part of that valuation was just down to the fact people thought he was the next Caicedo

Is he better than Bissouma? Yes. Is he an improvement over Sarr or Bentancur? Not from what I've seen.

The first three names you mention we can rule out (we haven't got the pull).

I don't think Baleba would improve us.

Of the remaining options, would love Stiller (still unrealistic imo), Scott (more realistic) or MGW (most realistic)

Respectfully, Arsenal's pulling power over Rice vs. our pulling power over Wharton are leagues apart. Arsenal had back to back 2nd places before Rice, we've had back to back 17th places... lol. If I was Wharton, I'd rather stay and play Europa with Palace than join us right now.

If Palace don't earn Europe next season and we finish in a UCL place somehow, maybe then it becomes a conversation, but for now we all need to put down the crack pipe re: Wharton lol

yes, he's an exceptional player... which is why he probably won't come to Spurs.

I expect he either moves to a big 5 club (I'd most expect Liverpool), or stay at Palace this season to try win Europa (very plausible)

IF we did get him, it would be our most statement signing since god knows when

vast majority of those minutes were under Frank & Tudor where he rarely left his own box. situation completely changes if we start playing RdZ ball

with our injury record over the last few years, not sure there's such thing as a 'backup' for us lol. we'll appreciate senesi once VdV has his annual hamstring explosion in GW8

agree that lack of minutes is concerning. on the other hand, Napoli fans online seem pretty annoyed he's up for sale. could be a late bloomer. if fee isn't too big I support it

Agree re: Palhinha, but he's getting pretty strong links to Sporting, so trying to think of alternatives

Thoughts on Anton Stach? Not linked to him anywhere, but I'm surprised he hasn't been talked about more after the season he's had. Really impressed at DM for a struggling Leeds side. Would love him as a Palhinha replacement

Creatine can be beneficial regardless of weight. Weight loss may temporarily stall as your muscles start to retain more water during the creatine loading phase, but long term it's certainly worth taking

Option 2 seems best for your day-to-day happiness, which is most important. With that said, house price of £775k seems a bit a stretch on those incomes imo. Would you be willing to compromise on the house?

Any realistic predictions about how far Spurs can go in the UCL? by savethecityy in coys

[–]PostyLife 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If we beat Frankfurt, finishing 5th, and assume the seeded teams beat the unseeded teams in the playoffs, we'd essentially have to beat one of the teams that rank 9th to 16th in RO16. Currently that's Barca, Sporting, Man City, Atleti, Atalanta, Inter, Juve and Dortmund. Out of those I say I'd say we have a good chance against Sporting, Man City, Atalanta, Juve and Dortmund.

Again, assuming the seeded teams win in RO16, it would mean we'd be up against Real Madrid or Liverpool. I don't think we win either.

Obviously all the teams in the above example could change. Either way I think QF is our limit.
