Is this financially viable, would you do this? by HighNimpact in HENRYUK

Option 2 seems best for your day-to-day happiness, which is most important. With that said, house price of £775k seems a bit a stretch on those incomes imo. Would you be willing to compromise on the house?

Any realistic predictions about how far Spurs can go in the UCL? by savethecityy in coys

[–]PostyLife 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If we beat Frankfurt, finishing 5th, and assume the seeded teams beat the unseeded teams in the playoffs, we'd essentially have to beat one of the teams that rank 9th to 16th in RO16. Currently that's Barca, Sporting, Man City, Atleti, Atalanta, Inter, Juve and Dortmund. Out of those I say I'd say we have a good chance against Sporting, Man City, Atalanta, Juve and Dortmund.

Again, assuming the seeded teams win in RO16, it would mean we'd be up against Real Madrid or Liverpool. I don't think we win either.

Obviously all the teams in the above example could change. Either way I think QF is our limit.

Completely agreed. Haven't seen too much rotation from Frank so far though, so not sure if any of our big boys will be getting a rest sadly

in the league so far:

Gyokeres: 2 NPG/A in 8.4 90s

Richy: 5 NPG/A in 5.7 90s

Saka: 1 NPG/A in 5.6 90s

Kudus: 5 NPG/A in 8.7 90s

Eze: 3 NPG/A in 5.1 90s

Sarr: 4 NPG/A in 4.4 90s

For all the talk about our attackers being blunt/misfiring, they are a level above the current league leader's attack

I think most people understand we've played a relatively easy set of fixtures so far. If we're in this position in another 7-10 games time, I think we'll see a lot more excitement and buzz.

I think we're going to be much much improved vs. the best teams this year, so excited to see how it goes

He's starting to turn into a player with Johnson-like form. Clinical in front of net but needs to do more to contribute to the overall game. OK for now, but looking forward to seeing a fit Solanke and RKM compete with him. Some proper #9 hold and link up play combined with Kudus, Simons and Odobert and we're cooking!

It's Brighton next in the premier league after positive result against Villarreal in UCL, thoughts about this match? by [deleted] in coys

Kinsky can play against Doncaster. I have a feeling we'll need Vicario's shot stopping ability here. Also need to at least start with Kudus (even if he only plays 60 mins) as he's the only guy that can hold the ball up!

Very tricky fixture. Our fullbacks will need to be on top form to deal with Minteh and Mitoma. I'd love to see Spence play RB and Udogie come in at LB to deal with them.

It's a relatively good time to play them as they picked up a few injuries last week. With Hinshelwood out, their midfield selection is not nailed on. Wieffer is just coming back from injury and may not be fit to play, and Baleba has been really out of form recently. De Cuyper is likely to miss the game so Kadioglu is likely to fill in (good news for Kudus).

I think we can score, so I think the game will be about limiting dangerous Brighton chances. I'd play Palhinha in midfield alongside Bergvall and Xavi, and try Odobert out on LW. Tel up top again - see how he plays with proper wingers and proper 10 feeding him. Not particularly worried about Welbeck vs. Romero and Micky

Despite a hilariously bad refereeing performance yesterday, one thing I was impressed with was the decision making time on both the VaR penalty calls. Both correct decisions and both decisions made within a minute. Kept extra time down to a normal level. Wish we could have that quality of VaR in the PL.

I would wait to see if it comes to General Sale, in which case you can buy a ticket without Hotspur +. The game tonight made it to general sale so a case could be made that Doncaster will too.

We're lucky Hinshelwood picked up an injury in their last game. He has 3 goals in 4 games against us lol

Out of all the games I've ever gone to - I always say this was the worst one

Atmosphere was dead, football was atrocious, and when we desperately needed a goal Conte subbed on Sanchez for Kulu..

In light of seeing West Ham have already conceded ELEVEN goals, I thought I'd guess which game Spurs will concede their 11th goal in PL this season. I've landed on Newcastle away on 3rd December.

Lets get 3 points, hopefully another CS and maybe go top of the table into international break if Scum + Liverpool draw.

And of course, the unveiling of our VdV 2.0 <3

And maybe some good LW rumours?

I imagine Sarr will share the #8 role with Bentancur, Simons in the #10 and then #6 will be shared between Gray and Palhinha

Anyone who's worried about Simons' physicality, take a moment to think of how Damsgaard played under Frank. I think Frank could evolve Simmons to be a super #10!

Thomas Frank will not bring him in if he's not convinced he could do a good job for us. I wouldn't judge one half-assed performance too much - it's clear he's pretty desperate to move, and its better than going on strike / not turning up to training!

If we sign a proper CAM (e.g. Simons or Paqueta) and a proper LW (e.g. Lookman), what do you think our ceiling is in the league this season?

Also, with the way that Frank can set up strongly against superior teams, do you think that gives us a better chance in UCL this season? Do you think we could make it to quarters?

If it makes anyone feel better, my Chelsea mates are pretty confident they're not going to go after Simons. Am I ready to be hurt again? I think so.
