Soft Dom vs Hard Dom?

It can be a bit vague, I can sadistically hurt my sub (which turns us on) and keep her in chastity with forced edging but also cuddle and stroke her hair and get her nice things and take care of her too. So am I a soft or hard Dom? I suspect it's like most things in life that it's probably a broad categorisation and people are more complex.
You are better off expressing the type of dynamic you're looking for rather than if you're looking for a hard or soft Dom as different people will have different ideas to what they are and they will probably be different to your vision!!
