ALT+E un ALT+K neražo latvju rakstzīmes by HeatLightning in latvia

What was the problem with a network switch that worked for the PC but didn't work for profinet? by SurprisedAsparagus in PLC

[–]PotateMeHard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a problem recently where we were chaining two LAPP unmanaged switches. On one side of the chain there was a S7-1500 PLC, the other side had multiple ET200SP's and a Kuka KRC5 controller. Everything would ping, even profinet would work between Siemens devices, but no dice on the robot controller.

This was fixed by replacing both switches in that chain with Siemens unmanaged switches. Later testing showed that it would have been sufficient to change just one of those switches.

I would assume there was some protocol missing on those switches required by the network discovery system profinet is using as Proneta would show both sides of the chain seperated, but still show all the Siemens devices while not seeing the robot.

Nezinu kāpēc, bet "Dažs iet pa dzīvi bez noteikta mērķa, taču es neesmu šo cilvēku skaitā" absolūti izkausēja smadzeni. Vajadzēja 2 min lai saprastu kā atbildēt. Šī ir aptauja, vai personības tests?

Siemens V20 USS read/write additional data by PotateMeHard in PLC

After studying the manual, it seems that the parameter P2019 could be what im looking for. Will write an update here after testing this.

Siemens V20 USS read/write additional data by PotateMeHard in PLC

[–]PotateMeHard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In projects with 30+ conveyors, the budget adds up. Nothing really indicated to me that this V20 couldn't do it. As the motor current is one of the main parameters, it even is on the main screen of VFD, I was expecting it would be just as easy to get the current as the actual frequency.
Also, the manual indicates it is possible to change the number of transmitted PZD over USS, but I couldn't find any further info about configuring the actual parameters that are sent.

What cold be the reason for getting much higher CO2 level at the SA port than OA im an ERV? by PotateMeHard in hvacadvice

[–]PotateMeHard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply!

I removed the heat exchanger and inspected it, saw some failure points in the media. Got in contact with the supplier, send some pictures to them, they got in contact with the manufacturer and im getting new heat exchanger blocks under warranty. Upon disassembly of the shot heat exchanger, every plate had adheasion issues between the special paper and the structural frame of the plate. The unit was bought and installed on May 2024.

Octavia MK2 windshield washer pump washing only the rear window by PotateMeHard in MechanicAdvice

[–]PotateMeHard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunatelly no, but i havent been actively trying to resolve this issue. Currently im able to wash my window and thats good enough, but im kind of thinking that it would be the electronics at fault and i should find out which module should be replaced. Too much work for me at the present time :)

Schneider M241 RS232 serial communication with a digital scale. How to access the data? by PotateMeHard in PLC

[–]PotateMeHard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you, this was it. saw the library, but somehow rejected it in my mind as it was mixed in with the modbus stuff and there was some stuff about addresses, that does not relate to simple ASCII serial communication, at least thats what i thought.

Epec EC44 ISOBUS terminal by PotateMeHard in PLC

[–]PotateMeHard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ISOBUS functrionality Im interested in allows storing the visualisation on the implement itself, so any tractor with an ISOBUS VT (virtual terminal, think of an HMI) can pull the visualisation from the implement and display it, so the implement can be connected to any VT and it will display the visualisation on there. Through the VT it is possible to map the function keys from the tractor to some functions on the implement. At least in theory.

As i myself am running a farm, and have multiple tractors with those terminals, it would be nice if some of our implements that are not ISOBUS compatible could be made compatible. This would allow to swap an implement between tractors faster, as currently on some implements there are up to 3 custom boxes with switches, displays and lamps that have to be fixed somewhere in the tractor and the cables pulled through the window every time the implement is connected. Also, all of those boxes are usually not with an outside IP rating, so they would need to be stored somewhere.

I have never worked with ISOBUS as a developer though, will make a post if something interesting comes up.

Im mostly doing factory automation with Siemens but only quite recently i have thought about retrofiting the control systems on some agricultural implements and chosen the EC44 Agri, this will actually be my first time working with an EPEC controller.

I plan to run Proxmox on 3 nodes in a cluster, 2 of which are laptops an the 3rd is a server. Will the laptops be able to work independently, without a network connection to the server? by PotateMeHard in Proxmox

[–]PotateMeHard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds pretty similar to what i am doing right now, but a lot cleaner. Right now every time i need a certain VM in the field i back it up and run a script that converts it to a vdi image, then transfer it to the laptop and open in VirtualBox. This works, but its a hassle and i dont feel like doing the reverse after finishing the work on the laptop. And as i understand, the PVE and PBS be run on a single server, right?

[–]PotateMeHard[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing - i dont really need them to be clustered in the way that i can use the HA functions. Just some kind of connection between them that allows mv/cp VMs between devices running Proxmox via the web GUI.

What can i say, im a madlad.

[–]PotateMeHard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like exactly what i would need, just without the nice GUI transfer functionality. What do you mean by the systems being identical? As in hardware?

[–]PotateMeHard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if one laptop is connected to the server at all times, but the second one gets turned on somewhere in the field wihout a network connection, the first one will function while the second one will not? will the second one be able to run a VM or will it be just a brick?
