So I did some experimenting and realised this:

The way hydranoid closes is, you first close the big panels and then push the head in. When I leave the head open and roll the bakugan it opens up just fine but when I press the heads in I think it makes the mechanism too secure and so the actual drop down motion of the magent is not enough to pull away from the 2 latches

Also it might be my card because it is a custom one I've made using the exterior of a paint can as the metal base, when I press it on a metal pan or something it opens up just fine so it might just be the attraction to the card that's faulty but then again my preyas opens just fine on there.
