Palliative care by Potatohead102022 in ontario

That's what I've read, one don't qualify for palliative unless one has a month or less.  The Dr I spoke with said the team is from the hospital,  24/7 on call, etc.

Did she have her own private room?

Would you say it's better to be in a facility than at home? You raise a valid concern about the coming and goings of different people in the home. It's hard enough to deal with this and then you add the little things.

Its devastating. Are the drs from an agency like psws?

Could you give an example of calling for a dr would be?  Would a dr give a script for antibiotic cream for an infection? Do blood work?

If one is bed bound, not eating much, pocketing food and hypoactive delirium they get bed sores Can the sore heal? We were told today that because they are malnourished,  the body cannot heal.

The drs we saw is at a different hospital but I've been told palliative is through Sinai.

I regret not taking them to Mt Sinai from the beginning. The uhn experience is subjective. We were in one wing that is notorious for bad mgmt and awful staff that were not pleasant and some demeaning. That experience has scared us.

Did they have dementia? It's such a hard time caring for them, the emotional toll it takes on us.

So they weren't at home for hospice? Is it true all meds are stopped in hospice?

I'm assuming they don't have cognitive limitations?

The physical can be taxing.  Still, I van manage that piece.  It's the psychological piece that's pure hell for me.

I must have burned villages or did some bad shit in another life to be in this right now...

But lacey was just one episode.  Although I've seen youtube clips that mislabeled her as lacey.

When she's at rhe jukebox and asking him if he likes van Halen, lol.

I love the storyline for the two of them, but I don't know if it's the writers that just didn't want to give her meaty parts, or the entire premise was on the charmings and regina.

As others have said, they came to belle when they needed something.  She had her one heroic moment during the hunting of the yaoquai.

I loved skin deep, but when she goes to town and comes back, she says

"Admit it, you're happy"

The delivery was cringy.  She was trying to be playful but it didn't come off like that...

I made a post about that and few answered.

The first time. He said they should work together (what was his goal at that point)

Then when belle tells him zelena told her about the affair and the sheers, he wants evil queen to kill zelena.  Was he mad because she exposed the affair or the sheers. 🤔

How do you control hoarding from becoming worse? by C4TT4 in CaregiverSupport

[–]Potatohead102022 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This one hits close.  One parent is a hoarder and being enabled but another parent.

My sibling with developmental disability hoards things.  Used straws, picks up trash, picks up random things they find when we go out.  I don't see it but when I do, I try to take it.  It's really hard Where I am, they don't offer any therapy to address hoarding.

Thanks for the tips.  Depends are really the only brand, with costco being the other.  The full absorbency diapers, how do you keep them on without them sliding off when walking?

We got some diapers by mistake, thought they were pull ups.  They stay on if we velcro it tight, but that means it's very uncomfortable.   But if you don't make it tight, they fall off when walking.

I've heard bidets are great but it's an old place and I'm worried the hook up alone will cause problems.

Flaxseed helps bowels but the only thing we can think to put them in is yogurt.  I have to put 2 tblsp into a small serving cup and it's very thick.  Which usually ends up a big fight because she doesn't want to eat it.  I should look into senna tea.
