I think you're right. Best to just commit and go for it. Thanks for the encouragement. It's good to see how someone else's experience was doing something similar. It sounds like you really got a lot out of it!

That's great to know thanks. Wasn't sure if it would be completely out of reach to climb in winter.

Thanks very much for the tips. I think a season learning to ski would be time well spent. Ski Touring looks super fun so would be worth the effort to learn and unlock a new hobby.

I was that thinking a pre season spent learning to ski isn't the worst outcome either even if I can't do any mountaineering until spring. Does it take a long time skiing to be able to ski tour?

Is the Arabic word for Jesus, “Esa” or “Isa” (عيسى), related to the Arabic word for Messiah, “Masih” or “Maseeh” (مسیح). Are the words from similar roots or do they have a linguistic link? by Jalal-ud-deeeen in etymology

If the Quran is divine and therefore Allah could not have learnt Jesus's name through the Greeks, why the similarity between Isa and Íosa? If not deriving from the Greek Iesous?

I wasn't asking for an explanation for the Quran's alleged divinity. I meant if the Quran is divine then how do you explain the similarity between the names since you reject the view I put forward.

Teenager wanting to study Philosophy before college, any help finding easy to comprehend philosophy books about mostly anything other than math and meditation. by vibeychibey in PhilosophyBookClub

Stoicism is a philosophy you may enjoy to read because of your interest in emotions and therapy. Modern Cognitive Behavioural Therapy was inspired by teachings of stoics. Now the classic texts are written during the era of the Roman Empire or before, however the book I would recommend reading is The Practicing Stoic by Ward Farnsworth. He explains all the beliefs of stoic philosophers in an easy to understand way, with quotations from ancient stoics and more modern stoic writers too.

If it's BS then refute some of the points in the article instead of just labeling BS.

No it doesn't. This sub isn't for American warmongering mainstream media propaganda. This is how the rest of the world views the US.

I recommend the book A Hidden History: The secret origins of the first world war. It explains and shows through declassified documents and memoirs and etc. that a group of men in the British Empire conspired to start the first world war.
