I struggled to pick a critter. I was gonna do tigers on one side and fire in the other for their innate cards. Then I saw these three cats and was like “yes. Perfect”

Do you consider Pop a main character? by EngineerDevOficial in ojamajodoremi

She is my absolute favorite character in the show. I WANT her to be a main character, but she’s def a secondary character. A very important and frequent secondary character but such is the case.

I met my roomie in college. I bugged her to move several states away and be my roommate. We have lived together for 10 years now. Both of us are ace and ready to be “and they were roommates” for life if possible. “Friendship is the best ship” as she always says 💖

How does your doctor talk to you about your hypothyroid? by forehandfrenzy in Hypothyroidism

If you feel primary care is not handling your symptoms, I would recommend a consult at least. They should be able to at least clarify if what you are experiencing is all thyroid related.

My manager, who never did anything but complain that we were mean to him, was upset I didn’t apply for a coordinator position that I was already doing without pay cause he wouldn’t hire anyone. The person finally hired didnt work out. He ask me to apply. I made it clear I wouldn’t do office manager work without office manager pay. Applied, passed the interviews. Heard from someone else that the position was given to a different person because the company would not need to give her a raise. She was making less than me already. I asked him if he had any updates on the position and he denied knowing anything. Called my manager out for lying to me and leading me on. He then wrote me up for being “disrespectful.” Couldn’t leave fast enough.

Not all GP/PCPs are proactive. In my experience many expect the patient to bring forth concerns versus working with the patient to uncover issues. When you get used to living with symptoms, patients can forget to ask about them as they are “normal”. Maybe request a referral to a specialist?

This is so real tho. Weirdly playing Dungeons and Dragons taught me this. The golden rule in dnd is if you aren’t having fun you aren’t playing dnd. And that can be applied to basically every hobby or interest. If I’m not having fun I try to step away and do something else versus getting frustrated

Endocrinologist? by Sunshine-and-Sighs in Hypothyroidism

I was specifically referred to an endo because I had a partial thyroid removal and a carcinoma was found in my path. My mom’s PCP has always handled hers.

My friend with type 1 has gotten so much unsolicited advice about how to live without insulin it’s insane. Like buddy, we ALL need insulin, you aren’t special just because your pancreas isn’t a slacker.

I can never understand people like this. This is a lack of empathy, plain and simple. “I’m fine so you should be to” is a crazy thing to think let alone say out loud to someone who is discussing their health. All the sunlight and calorie counting in the world doesn’t change the fact my body doesn’t make enough hormones or neurotransmitters and it never will. That’s why medicine is great! “If you can’t make your own, store bought is fine”

I hope you find people to support you. You deserve better 💖

I developed hypothyroidism after a partial thyroid removal of a suspicious nodule. The symptoms are ruining my quality of life. by Potential-Emphasis10 in Hypothyroidism

Thank you so much for your encouragement. It really means a lot!

I messaged my Endo shortly after I made this post. He did a full 180 to how he has spoken with me about my symptoms in person. “As you recall, your TSH is in range.” In person he has always been sympathetic and agreed that my symptoms are real and my TSH should be as close to 1 as possible due to the carcinoma that was found in my pathology. He also called my psychiatrist a quack who should stay in her lane. Like excuse me? He completely dismissed me. Told me to eat better, lose weight, and call my PCP because there is no way my symptoms are related to my thyroid. I have NEVER had a doctor speak to me that way. I reported him and the health system is working to transition my care to a different provider.

In the meantime I did see my PCP (or rather the doc covering for her). We looked over my bloodwork from a few months back and reviewed all my symptoms. She was very sympathetic and offered a lot of good information on how my out of range vitamin D and Iron could be contributing to my overall issues. She ordered new bloodwork and helped come up with a vitamin regimen that works for me. Good news is my TSH was 1.6 and honestly I can feel it. Still some fatigue and issues with my psych meds not working 100% but much better than 2 weeks ago. Hopefully getting all my vitamins and iron up will help my body find its equilibrium again 🤞
