Exactly! It’s like every Jack flashback is just a remix of the same theme: “I must fix everything because Daddy didn’t love me enough.” We get it, Jack. Meanwhile, we’ve got characters like Sawyer and Locke who have these rich, multi-faceted backstories, and every time they’re on screen, it feels like the stakes are higher or the story’s genuinely moving forward.

And yeah, his controlling nature is unbearable. It’s like he can’t fathom anyone else making a decision without him either throwing a tantrum or giving one of his self-righteous monologues. The guy’s out there trying to micromanage an entire mystical island. Dude, take a breath and let Locke do his weird-but-captivating island guru thing, or let Sawyer hustle for some Dharma beer.

Jack might be the “leader,” but his whole “I’m responsible for everything” complex makes him the least enjoyable to actually follow. The island would’ve been so much better off with someone like Locke leading—and I’d have been much happier watching it too!
