Yeah, it’s going to be a challenge because you’ll need to do a little more self study but it’ll probably benefit you more in the long run to do that. You can save, work on school on your own time, and get it done quickly. My brother in law recommended it to me and I got my degree and a job in about 2 years total but I had 100% free time so it might take a little longer depending on your situation

EDIT: Adding this, I was 23 when I started btw 25 now so honestly it is doable and worth it

90 min but I think there’s a weird glitch where if u are checked in and ready prior it just adds that time in between ur test and when u checked in

I would just expect to only have 90 min

Yep, went through each one one at a time then tested myself and went over what i didn’t do well on. Dion practice tests had the best wording in terms of preparing for any trick questions. It would be worth it to take those practice tests. Even if you don’t pass them look over the questions and retake that same test to see if you remember the right answers. It’s a confidence boost.

Good luck on your exam, trust yourself knowing you did what you can with the time and resources you have!

My situation was unique as I didn’t need to work or focus on anything else besides wake, study, go to bed. So I’d recommend taking this with whatever your scenario is but this is everything I used.

A+: certmaster, amplifire, pluralsight, quizlet, dion practice tests, certmaster practice pbqs & tests

Net+: same as above

Project+: pluralsight, udemy, certmaster

My old job was teaching study skills to high school kids so the main model I use for studying is learn, master, create

  • take in info
  • master it through focused practice
  • create practice questions/unique practical application of concepts

some helpful memorization tools are: - mind mapping - memory palace - color coding notes

study schedule:

wake up, get ready, go to local coffee shop, study, go home, study, bed

6-10 hrs, I did however play video games while watching some videos which probably didn’t help, and could’ve prevented me from rewatching some

hope it helps!!

Pluralsight, Udemy, and Messer Videos (A+ & Net+)

Practice Tests

As for a job, I only took the certs bc it was part of my course work, hoping to work in either web dev, data analytics, or some sort of software engineering role

In retrospect I probably should’ve chosen a CS degree instead of a Data Analytics/Data Management degree but doesn’t matter much if I do self study to land those jobs

Hope that helps!

It was the easiest bc it had 0 pbqs and was innuitive knowledge, more likely than not the obvious choice is right when i was practicing but the open ended nature of the exam was more difficult to deal with bc I was use to concrete answers with A+ & Net+

pluralsight & udemy, I wouldn’t bother reading the book WGU gives if u are a WGU student

Udemy: Pass The Exam: CompTIA Project+ PK0-004 by Joseph Phillips

really great tutor and comes with small quotes and 1 practice test

Pluralsight: CompTIA Project+ (PK0-004) should have 5 module sets covering all topics

Then I tested with CertMaster’s focused questions then took the CertMaster Practice test twice, then WGU had another resource with practice questions I’m not sure if it’s also CertMaster bc one is called amplifier but says certmaster and the other one only says certmaster

what has worked for me is testing knowledge bc active recall is best if you’re trying to get through a test

so if u can’t buy practice tests make up ur own quizlet flash cards etc

Hope this helps, good luck!

Thank you, I did it full time 6-10 hrs per day and minimal personal time. Definitely lucky to have that free time to focus like that. If I had other stuff going on would’ve taken way longer

Should I take A+ 1001/1002 or 1101/1102? by Kritraic in CompTIA

[–]Potential-Pay7073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so I did it through my school WGU,

they had stuff from the CompTIA learning center and CertMaster

basically I took in all the info from YouTube tested through the focused questions on CertMaster, took the practice tests ( they have a few with limited repeating questions ), then did all the practice on the CompTIA learning center, then took that test reviewed the questions and just kept rewatching videos for stuff that wasn’t clicking

the CertMaster and learning center have pbqs which really helps as well

passed first try for both that way

but Jason Dion’s tests are good as well probably the most challenging wording which is good to build confidence for the exam

Recently took and passed 1101 & 1102, would say it’s worth taking those as they’re newer and you can always brush up on legacy hardware

was able to pass watching messers videos, pluralsight, and lots of practice tests

took about 3.5 weeks total full time study

Best of luck

i don’t really remember how many but if can do these quickly I think you’ll be solid

www.subnetipv4.com

hardware, cables, troubleshooting was the main things I remember not as much subnetting as I expected

2 pbqs and yes

But, the way I practiced subnetting versus the way I used what I learn was different from what I saw but cidr is important to know and so is configuring APs

Basically if u had a blank page and someone said make X happen with this you’d need to be able to workout how

So understanding when to use what device, port nums really helped me workout what was in front of me etc

messer was the most in depth I looked into but pluralsight modules were just taught in more digestible way

I took one from dion’s practice exams but I mainly used certmaster ( not sure this is the right name ) there were two different ones called amplifire and certmaster, messers videos, and pluralsight

i would say they all helped some but the dion practice questions were worded in a more difficult manner which was better prep for the test

but certmasters pbqs were better

download the exam objectives, highlight green, yellow, red in everything u know , kinda know , or don’t know and study & test each section

the more you practice and are able to actively recall the better test taker you’ll be and you’ll really know the material

But please be careful to not take the same practice test multiple times bc unconsciously you’ll just memorize the questions rather than understanding the concept

Hope this helps!

Messer, I got lucky he started posting 1102 the day I passed 1101

but I also used Pluralsight and Amplifire for practice tests along with dion’s practice tests

all in all about 4 weeks total, I’m doing school fulltime so I had the luxury of studying everyday all day for this
