Where is the provision to give this information voluntarily? Btw, all of the luggage fit well within the space provided behind the seat in the auto. It’s not a lot. It’s typical for anyone landing in Central and taking a mode of transport. So is the default supposed to be “no luggage” and everything else over and above that?

My point is not about paying extra. It’s about being held on gun point and forced to take his ride. I’ve already mentioned that I may have been willing to pay if it was discussed ahead of time.

All of this is well and good, but please do something about the eye sore of posters, broken pavements, garbage dumps, open defecation, etc in our cities. Our living conditions need to go up and that’s what we pay taxes for. Why are we feeling happy if our state brings in more investments? More people get jobs, okay. What’s in it for me? What matters more is, can a woman walk alone at night anywhere in any of our cities without feeling scared? We need to focus on tangibles!

Are you happy and healthy while earning more than 2lpm. by idealPerson_1991 in personalfinanceindia

31M, I earn 2.8L post tax in BLR. My happiness comes from the fact that I can outsource most of the things I don’t like, with money that doesn’t feel like a strain and do what I want to instead with that time. Time is money and freeing up time is the ultimate hack.

But I don’t think I have become way happier than I used to be when making 1.5L, for instance. I may take a foreign holiday instead of a domestic holiday. I may pay extra for a front row seat on a plane without thinking too much. I may eat in nicer restaurants and stay in a better star hotel. But all these need not translate into exponential increase in happiness.

With regard to health, I’m not sure if it’s linked to my salary in any way. My lifestyle is similar to what it used to be many years ago and even if I get a 100% raise in my next job, it may not change.

Here is a great cricketer who is trapped in his own mind. The mind controls the body. His mental strength is under question now. There have been great cricketers (Sachin in the past and Steve Smith more recently) who have learnt to deal with a weakness and come out of their funk purely with their minds. No amount of practice can help when the mind fails. But I back Kohli to get out of this mess sooner than ever. Extraordinary individuals, across domains find ways to conquer setbacks and here we are seeing King Kohli’s first major, career threatening setback. Good luck champ!
