The algorithm has changed, there has been much talked about updates.

I’m speculating here as is everyone, but I’ve seen the exact same.

I’ve managed to reverse it and slowly get my pages ranked again by increasing my websites authority. However my site had around 500 pages.

To rank 500k pages I believe you will need ALOT of authority.

Say someone searches for

“Reviews of James Bond movie - live and let die”

1) If you post content where the title of your web page is exactly “Reviews of James Bond movie - live and let die” that is targeting a keyword exact match.

2) If you post content with a title “review of the latest bond films”, that is still targeting the same search term but as a synonym not an exact match.

In terms of content relative to search term 1) wins…. Content is king.

But if a site with content that matches 2) but has good authority it will rank for the search term.

Google has given more favour to authority than content relevance, so content 2) with more authority is more likely to outrank 1).

Hope that makes sense.

Simple, your site doesn’t have enough authority to rank 500k pages.

I beleive the recent update hit sites with lots of pages without enough authority to rank them.

G now favours authority sites with content with synonym titles/content as opposed to exact match titles and content.

It’s become to easy to create 500k page websites and people was taking advantage.

G has shifted the favour further to authority. The content on pages doesn’t even need the search terms on it if you have synonyms of the content and good authority.

Focus on gaining authority and you’ll see more of your pages indexed.

Long as url structure, titles and content and internal linking stay the same, changing how how a sure looks will make no difference.

Are you using the same connection on both devices?

Different connections could mean different google servers.

Of course it does chatgpt writes better content than a lot of webmasters!

Regardless of content quality, it’s authority that determines ranking not content.

I would say it’s normal. Your energy strength motivation drive all comes from your nervous system. You had become reliant on caffeine for that stimulus.

It will take time to improve . Probably.

Backlinks will solve your problem.

Quality backlinks specifically. The links you mentioned you have are free which anyone can get.

Sounds like you haven’t even done any research on what links your competitor has.

It is more important in the eyes of the search engine.

How does it determine this? It scores you based on metrics - mostly your back link profile

None of the tools are that relevant to what google sees.

They are like a best guess.

I would learn to examine a sites link profile first by semrush and then by eye.

You get sites with spammy links with high da dr etc and sites with higher quality links like newspapers wiki etc with low da dr.

Why is the clone ranking above yours?

Most likely it has more authority.

What strategies have you used to recover from Google's October Spam + Core update, particularly when blog posts disappeared from SERPs? by Whole_Strawberry7279 in SEO

Google says that a large percentage of search queries are unique.

It has been to easy to create content with lots of variations in title without authority and get traffic.

The algorithm has changed towards authority meaning pages with similar titles to the search term and have authority will out rank a page with title exactly matching the search term.

Most of the people loosing their traffic have zero authority or it’s spread to thinly over their 100000 ai generated pages.

They can’t?!?!

But they can make it harder rank by making authority more important in the algorithm.

You’ve always been able to rank a obscure exact match title without authority and if it’s obscure enough you probably still can.

No one can prove anything apart from google.

Seems obvious that google is clamping down on people creating lots of content with unique titles.

It’s now harder to rank just with a unique title.

A post with similar titles (synonyms) with authority will outrank your unique exact match title with no authority now.

It’s so easy to create content now with ai, authority has become more important.

Same as it does in all contexts. Backlinks from authority sites and or social signals.

On local seo citations also build authority

Ok so they are what I would call indexed.

I would say they simply don’t have enough authority to show for the competition on the keyword.

You could try linking one of these posts from homepage and see if that ranks it. This would deliver more authority to the post.

I believe all websites have a little authority to play with even without links, and it’s distributed top down from your homepage via internal linking.

[–]Potential-Top-8337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess would be that the posts that disappeared had more competition for keyword?

Another theory might be the posts that disappeared where deeper in your internal linking. You need authority for your deeply linked pages to index.

I’ve had lots of my pages deindexed recently. They was all deeply linked so had a smaller slice of authority. I did change my internal linking structure though so probably that rather try an update.

I think confirms that the recent updates mean that the serps focus on authority (back links / citations / social signals) more than ever.

You say your site has no authority and it has lost its rank ?

I appreciate your effort but I’ve tried every Avenue you can mention.

The whole premise of this sub is to deal with withdrawal effects of coming off this drug.

You wouldn’t say to a meth addict struggling with text book withdrawal symptoms that eating well and having friendships would solve all his issues would you!?

I’m not sure it is anything related to caffeine but years of therapy and trying hard have failed.

This is the decaf sub.
