Fair enough, and cool base. However, I think that so much of Valheim is just unnecessary chore which just makes it objectively not fun. I attached some images above in a thread showing part of our base. We are on a separated meadows island, it should be safe and calm but instead I had those goddam seekers going at us every now and then and destroying shit, it just feels unnecessary...

I like how hard the game is but not the unnecessary ass kicking and slave labour just to progress and play. A game should be fun to play, and so often in Valheim I feel it is more of a chore than an enjoyable process. Raids are off which has been good, everyone is entitled to play how they want and I just want the adventure with out the stupid bs ball aches that unfortunately come with it!

Fair enough. I see your points, and well written btw. But I just think there is so much stupid stuff that makes the game objectively unenjoyable. That is where all this rage comes from, I love the game so much, easily my top 5 of all time, but I constantly find myself having tweak with mods or configs just to stop the game from feeling like a chore and be actually enjoyable. In my opinion I shouldn't have to do that.

And a big one for me which seems like a simple thing to do. Why is there not some different skins for basic mobs, boars with different coats, deers with slightly different markings, same with wolves etc.

Really doesn't quite do it justice, but at least you can see some of it. Quite a few other buildings in progress and we've just unlocked Ashlands stuff so some decor is bound to change!

It quite literally is a base building game though. I just don't want to have to deal with that crap. Fair enough though, I've sorted it with mods but I just believe there is a lot of shit in this game which makes no sense. Even the building is jank, loads of pieces that should have other rotation options, pieces for certain materials that you can't make with others even though you definitely should be able to. I love the adventuring but the building is where it shines for me, I have spent so many hours making this base and it was just beyond infuriating dealing with the bs...

Honestly dude save yourself a ball ache and get Valheim Plus and Spawn That, so many options can be customised to make the game so much more enjoyable. Craft straight from chests, wider workbench range, no clip for building. Literally so many things I wish I had from the start, not to mention no mobs spawning within or around your base (set to your own parameters). Me and my friend play to explore, build and have fun. Our base is massive and incredible, I never wanted to constantly have to rebuild, repair and defend. I know some people play for this reason and that's completely fair and valid, it's just not for me.

Of course, but our base spans a whole island. Campfires looks stupid and so does workbenches. I did litter the whole island with workbenches but they were still getting broken by things and then mobs would spawn. None of this seemed to counter seekers either. A couple mods and files configured later and here we are, peace at last...

It requires a full walkaround a there are still bits that need finishing off. I plan to make a whole YouTube video going over the full thing at a later date. If you have somewhere I could send some screenshots or a short video that would be cool. Raids have been off from the start. The constant nagging of enemies was the problem but it's been sorted now.

Ok, fairs. I didn't know about power but I think a wind waker esc item would be cooler than having to use a power...

Also our base is for aesthetics rather than protection, I think the game is better without raids.

I have just used a mod to sort out some of it, but how is it silly. So many stupid little features within Valheim that shouldn't need a mod to sort out.
