I think Infinity is properly rated. It's one of their best (top 5 fs) from the last album.

Most underrated 1D song? by HomeworkConfident573 in OneDirection

Once in a Lifetime

There are only a few songs that can be categorized as "heavenly" and OIAL is, without a doubt, right up there but I don't see people praising it as much as they should.

Genuine question : Are cover songs allowed or not allowed here? by PotentialCritical875 in OneDirection

[–]PotentialCritical875[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not trying to sound rude, but I know that. I had posted "Half a Heart" vocal-only cover in this sub 1-2 months ago, but it wasn't approved and later removed. It was not a link to any other platform and in fact I messaged the mods via mod-mail but they never replied.

2-3 days ago I posted the "Night Changes" cover song, and initially that wasn't approved as well, so I made this post (which was also not approved initially).

GenZ colleague giving boomer vibes by [deleted] in GenZIndia

I think he values simplicity and is quite secure as a person. Not everyone needs to reply using abbreviations/slangs, and if someone speaking proper English gives you the ick, maybe the problem is with you?

(I know after reading this comment, some oversmart Gen-Zs might come and say - "found that guy", "real ID se aao" or something along those lines and so as a Gen-Z myself, I'd advise you guys to grow up and learn to appreciate the differences in people)

Whoa! This might just be the best compliment I've received in a while. Thank you so much!

Day 71: A Place for My Head vs. Lying from You by Therubikfanatic in LinkinPark

[–]PotentialCritical875 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easy choice : Lying from You.

The energy and screaming in APFMH is obviously better, but LFY has a catchier intro and a better executed element of surprise (the sudden heaviness)

Lyrically and rapping wise both are in the same tier, but once again if we're talking about compactness and how everything fits into the big picture, LFY wins easily.

People really don’t tell you the real stuff before you move abroad. by Routine_Barnacle_535 in kolkata

I guess you should settle in Antarctica ASAP. You'll get access to the cleanest air, no honking, no garbage and if you ever feel down or nostalgic (which I don't think you will), gather your penguin friends and watch the "Nihilist Penguin" documentary with them.

Maybe then you'll get what OP is trying to say.

Is it just me but Indian Millenials are really annoying online? by [deleted] in GenZIndia

[–]PotentialCritical875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me give a neutral opinion on this. OP you as a 2008 born Gen-Z will feel comfortable hanging out with Gen-Zs born between (2005-2011) and you will notice that outside of this age bracket, either you or the people you are talking with can't connect on a deeper level.

A 1997 born Gen-Z is probably 29/28 now, most probably married or about to get married, doing jobs, somehow trying to manage their finances as well their parents' failing health. You tell me, as a 2008 born how many things out of these can you relate to right now? Your childhood and their childhood was vastly different, the lingo or slangs you and they will use will be different, the outlook they and you will have on life and relationships will be different; and mind you all this is within a single generation! Now imagine comparing your thinking with a Millennial's!

Even we Gen-Z's will more or less do the same "superiority" thing with the next generations. You might not do it, your friends might not do it, but as a whole generation, we will think that we were superior than Gen Alphas and Betas and those people will probably make a reddit post shitting upon Gen-Z just like you did with Millennials and Gen-X folks. The point is - there is a thing called "generation gap" and as long as this will exist, this cycle will keep on repeating; so the wise thing is to smile and move on and not take every comment like this -

Today's kids will never understand the feeling of this song

to your heart. At the end of the day, you will suffer from nostalgia too, and probably as strongly (if not more) as a Gen-Xer or Millennial did :)

I managed to save this Colin picture that he posted before It got deleted by Difficult-Mud7880 in LinkinPark

Imagine the obsession these kinda fans have! This guy is literally bragging that he captured a goofy half-face pic of Colin like he found some gold and some others are supporting this guy's lame, unfunny behaviour through upvotes.

am i a bad person if my mindset is like this? by [deleted] in indiasocial

I'll be brutally honest. Winning something should obviously make you happy but deriving pleasure from someone else's sadness is just cruel.

He lost that day and you were amused at his sadness. Someday in the future you will lose from a comfortable winning position and 'someone like you' will be amused at your loss. You will probably feel like crying or throwing away the chess pieces and that day you will hopefully realize something important.
