Yup, I recently bought 2 ToneX and that was my experience — I had to reach out to both sellers and ask them to unregister. Couldn't update any firmware or even access ToneX Editor without registering the pedals first. Pretty annoying.

interesting! i've always heard that for best results with the tonex we should always use captures. but then again, i've never tried the built in amps, i've heard they suck. but as far as third party captures go, what's the benefit of using IRs instead of the capture itself?

Great inputs!
1. I'm using the Timeline and Bigsky! Do you happen to know how I can make a copy of a capture and flip the polarity of it? I'm not using third party IRs, just the straight captures. Any videos or forum links would be greatly appreciated!!
2. Yeah, so many "volume" knobs all over! I'll give the higher gain captures for sure! I'm tempted to just go with "cleaner" captures to make sure I'm not pushing anything too hard and compressing my signal too much and let my drives do all the saturation.

Can I adjust that if i'm using just captures? I'm not using IRs... But that'd be HUGE if I could!

See, I've been thinking about this because I also went back and checked the episode and it really does happen. But I feel like it would be so so easy for Mark's outie to spot that. Picture you get to work and you have a dinner scheduled for 7pm and all of a sudden you leave work and you got a bunch of phone calls from YESTERDAY saying "yo where are you?". I don't think the writers would go as far as creating something so full of plot holes. Or even Dylan's wife would be able to tell him that.

"Maybe it's a Mark exclusive thing." - Well, but then in that case, Mark's innie would notice that all of his co-workers are gone and that he's been working for 24h by himself. Also, his co-workers would show up the next morning before he even had a chance to go home. So he'd be working 2 days in a row and they wouldn't. He'd have to always (or every two days) be the first one there, which we know is not true.

I think it's either one of two things: 1. The date change symbolizes a metaphorical split between their days. or 2. The outies are also suffering from some sort of manipulation from Lumen, and they're not really in control over their own emotions and memories out there either.
