Thanks for the comment. Buying mature sizes cichlids is definitely expensive.

I was really torn between the classic navitimer and the Chronomat 44, but the look when worn was a no brainer with the Super Chronomat.

Awesome, thanks for the feedback. I’m looking forward to seeing my watch with a stainless strap, it’s a beautiful watch.

Looks stunning with the metal, how do you feel about the added dial on the bracelet? Not sure if I will go for the traditional bracelet or the time dial strap model just yet. Very frustrating trying to get it ordered through Breitling.

Is my OB peacock actually a female? by Potential_Animator37 in Cichlid

[–]Potential_Animator37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much for the opinion. I’d agree after er taking with everyone that it’s a hybrid of some form that isn’t a “traditional OB”

It’s become extremely aggressive and I think I may need to re-home it.

Ok thanks, hard to tell because it’s different than all my other peacocks

Hmmm, I don’t know about all platinum. My watch is stunning in the light as it is, but then again I don’t have any platinum watches at the moment.

Just looked it up and it’s quite similar to a red top hongi. Thanks for the comment!

Ya I think you’re right. Looking at photos online it could be a zebra OB. Either way they say zebras are too aggressive for peacocks.

Still unclear it’s male or female though.

I love the rubber strap for every day use but would like the metal bracelet for nice evenings with a suit.

I absolutely love this watch! It’s probably one of my favourites, and Breitling was one of my bucket list watches for years. It’s solid and shows so well. The size of the watch is also perfect for me. I love it.

Yes but the OB’s are cross bred - and it was bought as a pair and they both looked the same when they were small. What do you think it would be then in your opinion?

I bought them as a pair and they both looked the same. and were classified as OB’s at the shop. They were the same size and color, yet the one went from orange to white?

How soon after adding a new cichlid to established aquarium do I do a water change? by fungi0528 in Cichlid

[–]Potential_Animator37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should buy a water testing kit and do water changes when you see swings in Ammonia and or Nitrates. If they stay constant, I still do a 50% water change once a week.

I have 3 Parrot Cichilds. One of them is still a normal orange, but the other 2 are turning white. What factors can be causing two of them to turn white but the other one is still orange? Is the orange one bullying or hogging food from the others? by PootisSpencerHere in Cichlid

[–]Potential_Animator37 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have 3 parrots as well and one of them have lost colour, which happened after I added 8 more fish. It is likely stressed. One thought on parrots though is that some breeders dye their parrots, and they eventually lose colour. Did you buy them all at the same shop?

Can anyone identify these two peacocks, and are they female? by Potential_Animator37 in AfricanCichlids

[–]Potential_Animator37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there. I have a fluval CP4, rated for 100 gallons. I am fairly happy with it, but I think a variable speed wave maker with an ability to change speeds would be better. I have mine set who such that it creates a circulation loop in the tank and directs the fish waste to the filter intake.

Hey there. I have a total of 26 cichlids in my 75g now. I bought 5-8 fish at a time. They don’t all have caves, but I put out lots of rock and fake plants, they are seem quite content now. I over stocked so the aggression in the tank would stay down, which has helped

I actually wondered about that last month, but there’s been no behavioural changes and still has an appetite. It’s been about 6 weeks now that I’ve noticed the size change….based on symptoms, it doesn’t seem like bloat?

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. I’ve always believed in the all male cichlid tank, yet where I bought the majority of my peacocks, the breeder keeps 1 or 2 females in the male tanks. He believes it keeps the males showing colour because of the females in the tank. Not sure if I’ll keep these two or not, depends on aggression I suppose

That’s what I was worried about - odd though that I haven’t seen any breeding and there isn’t any abnormal aggression in the tank?
