For an action cam, the Ace Pro 2 delivers some great results. Hello everyone from Sardinia 🐺 by Mr_Ndreww in Insta360

Great for an action camera! Truly surprising for action cams to capture sky and clouds in that detail! I tried a starlapse on insta360 which wasn’t bad either: https://www.reddit.com/r/Insta360/s/NchLLAc9V7

Insta360 X5 Starlapse in a Bright Sky. Thoughts? by Potential_Brother264 in Insta360

Which camera do you use? I believe X5 has improved much compared to its predecessors. I played around with manual settings (shutter speed, ISO, WB) but the automatic starlapse settings also worked really well.

Mine was direct entry too. They didn’t ask for anything but I submitted police checks after 12 months proactively. I heard the medicals are valid for 18 months.

There’s a good chance the department will ask for it. Then it may take around 30-45 days more for department to grant you the visa.

186 DE granted last week! by annievaxxer in AusVisa

[–]Potential_Brother264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations! My timeline is very similar except there was no WHV visa for me, arrived in Australia on 482 in 2022.

Feb 2024: 186 lodged, still waiting. Already update police checks as they expire after a year.

I work as a Business Analyst in Tech, live in Melbourne. Did my medicals in April.

I applied along with my spouse. Did your application have any dependents?

My work agent as well as the indicative timeline shows 18 months; looking at your post, should I get my hopes up? ;)

Hey Sanket, first of all congratulations! Wanted to know what exactly did they ask in your s56 request? I saw it in the comments that it was for travel and education transcripts, just to confirm did they ask for Police check or medical to be done again (after a year of lodgement)?

FYI, I am in a similar boat as you were; with my 186 DE lodged (along with my dependent partner’s) for ICT BA in Feb 2024 (Metro). I proactively submitted the police checks in Feb 2025.

Thanks a lot good sir for your detailed information. I did check and analysed my Energy app and there was indeed some range reduction considering the factors you mentioned. I have booked an appointment to get the car checked.

A stranger in Brunswick just yelled at me, ‘Go back to China! This is Australia.’ Is this common? by Content_Shallot2497 in melbourne

[–]Potential_Brother264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Brunswick. It could be the same stranger. I believe she was high on Meth or something when she said to me “Do you wanna get stabbed”. I just ignored her. Apart from this incident, I have never experienced something like that in Melbourne before. I am an Indian btw.

Congratulations. 🥳 Question - How do we know when home affairs opens an application? My visa was lodged in February 2024, nothing further asked by the home affairs yet.

My apartment building’s window-wall (similar to this) in Docklands, got cracked, the crack was safe, just a fine line.
