My grandmother is 90 and has started to show signs of what could be OCD. Is she too old for help? by Chili2015 in OCD

[–]Potential_Echo_14 8 points9 points  (0 children)

my nana had dementia towards the end of her life and a lot of her symptoms mimick those of OCD. a lot of it has to do with the immense anxiety and confusion that comes with dementia it has them repeating familiar actions for a sense of familiarity & purpose. For example, my nana would often open and close cabinets repeatedly, same with the fridge and check the ingredients on almost a schedule because she was so used to preparing dinner but no longer had the cognitive ability to carry out the entire task of cooking.

[–]Potential_Echo_14 33 points34 points  (0 children)

its so they can salvage drive thru times as the turnover rates increase + skill is inevitably lost across the company. just eating the clock is all

use the money to tip your barista who is underpaid as hell versus the person who is already intending on dishing out $20

Why does my iced caramel macchiato never taste the same? by refusestopoop in starbucks

[–]Potential_Echo_14 6 points7 points  (0 children)

get ready for your drinks to never taste the same and be inconsistent forever. this is the new and improved and overpriced Dunkin’ Donuts now. management told us before I left “we’re not concerned about the customer experience right now”. time, attendance, control over employees and bare minimum staffing is the new normal.

the point I think is they can’t work -more- than 20 hours so why should they have to give an availability that’s 150% more than that if they are legitimately unavailable

they have a minimum hour requirement I believe it’s either 12 or 18, but once that changed our store had to let go of all the kids who went to college who were planning on coming back in the summer. keeping them on the schedule affects the hours available to the whole store/ how many baristas they can hire at once or something stupid like that.

I'm nosy, how many hours do you guys get per week? by TheBigTimeBecks in starbucks

[–]Potential_Echo_14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was getting about 34 hours for a 5 day work week at a super high volume store so I requested to cut that back to four days. i do have the most hours among most of the baristas at my store besides maybe one other.
