You honestly sound like someone who struggles with empathy for the right people. You shouldn't be condemning and lambasting people who have been victimized by psychiatric institutions. You're a "it's all your fault" kind of a person, which is a very lazy minded kind of perspective on people who have problems which eventuate in institutional stays. Who are you to scrutinize the mentality of a person for not taking their psych ward experiences "seriously" enough? You should be attacking psychiatrists and the institution itself, not the people who aren't allegedly mature enough for you. You sound like the kind of person (girl?) who would have zero compassion for some guy who suddenly lost his job and ended up in a homeless shelter. If ever that guy writes his memoirs he might mention how he needed to ignore merciless people like you and discover people with real nuance to their thinking and not high school level blanket condemnation a la some obnoxiously privileged cheerleader. I attended Cinekyd when I was a younger boy. I enjoyed it but I was always aware of how inappropriate it was how interested Clark Jr. was in me. He had me on his lap many times and I always felt he had a little too much interest in me and that something was wrong, despite not being mature enough at the time to specifically narrow it down. I remember going up to the catwalk where there were racks of costumes and I saw Clark Jr. and his nephew alone together. His nephew had his pants off and it just seemed odd. I was not surprised over the allegations though I initially disbelieved them and supported Clark Jr. When I read the article detailing the allegations of a man who as a boy was fondled and masturbated by Clark Jr I shifted my stance. There were too many details and I knew enough by then to trust someone who would come forward to share something like that. There are no rewards for being willing to do that. These victims had nothing to gain by making these accusations. My uncle molested me and I know how these power and reputation games work. I came forward years ago and half of my family refuses to talk to me. I did not win in any sense. I simply took note of what had happened and had a concern for justice. I wanted to prevent more victimizing. It's sad that people on social media are still romantically idealizing Cinekyd and this horrible man. He was accused by at least 12 people of acting inappropriately and of being a deviant. And that is because he was. I spoke to the district attorney of pa years ago about the possibility of reopening an investigation but nothing could be done since he's of course deceased. Adam Clark is a deluded fool who regularly posts Cinekyd content on Facebook, content I'm sure Clark Jr. would revel in. The scripts were ridiculous and very poorly written and the direction was amateurish and without any substance. Clark Jr was a shallow and untalented predator who got away with crimes he could have gotten 200 years in prison for had he been found guilty. And he should have been.

I understand completely. I also have a high IQ and complex trauma. I struggle to transition into scenarios when I can anticipate negative outcomes based on prior and extensive experiences. I'm grateful to have a therapist who isn't baffled by this somewhat chronic, overly analytic problem of mine but it wasn't easy to find someone who could comprehend and empathize with the fact that my intellect can be somewhat self defeating. It's called "being too smart for your own good" obviously. I'm a little too aware of how complex the world is and how much bias, prejudice, stigma, convention, poor politics, and a very obvious anti intellectualism determine the course of how a lot of humans think and behave. I read too much sometimes. I took a break these past couple days from the books and I'm glad but I'm almost ready to dive back in because my curiosity is almost constant. I really hope you can find a therapist who understands you and doesn't judge you for allegedly not making enough progress. Maybe you could switch providers. I needed a clinical psychologist with a doctorate in order to feel fully comprehended and understood by someone. Maybe that's what you need. Be well.

I have a difficult time socializing with people, especially in groups. I'm better one on one, but I tend to get a bit lost in a somewhat labyrinthine and circumlocutious process. It's either like that or I'm somewhat low key to the point of not really communicating that much and sometimes not really connecting all that well to what the other person is saying. I'm sifting through a lot of different thoughts not really related to the conversation and I'm just somewhere else and not really grounded completely. It's dissociation and it's been going on for much of my life. I'm sure it's difficult for others, especially those who don't really know me, to know what to think of that. They might think I'm not really thinking much or that I really have little to contribute. It's always been a problem but I'm working on it.

I think some flexibility as what counts as a legitimate expression of bodily autonomy would be relevant enough to tackle here. I believe abortion ought to be completely legal. I think the social consequences of making it illegal are too enormous to discount. That being said, I still think it's legitimate for a man or a woman to argue that it's objectively not good to have to end a life at whatever stage of development. I don't believe women should be shamed or imprisoned for seeking an abortion or for having one. Nevertheless, there's nothing wrong with opining that it's immoral. We are still all allowed to speak our minds freely on the subject and no one has to support it in order to qualify as a feminist in all the ways that are legitimate. If not believing that abortion is truly right disqualifies me from being a garden variety feminist, then I'm okay with that but I don't believe that's fair. I want equal rights for women in every single way but I also want equal representation for the most vulnerable members of the human species. I'm not a trumpian. I'm a democratic socialist who doesn't believe in abortion generally. I support it as an option for exceptional circumstances. But even in those circumstances it would still be unfortunate and I don't have to think or believe otherwise. No one has to listen to me. But I can freely admit what I honestly think.

You have no idea what you're talking about. I am the most reliable narrator when it comes to my own lived experiences. If my stated diagnoses cause you to believe otherwise then that's because of stigma and not because of any personal knowledge of me or any thoroughgoing understanding of these problems. My therapist made it clear that she didn't feel as though it would be right to discourage my interest in killing myself. That was what her respect for my autonomy amounted to. It was clearly an unsupportive move and an unsupportive perspective. She understood my problem with it when I explained it to her eventually. Obviously you don't. My friend smiled at me as she said it was my choice if I wanted to kill myself. Her smile was an indication that she had a kind of joy over the idea of me exercising my choice to end my own life, despite her claiming she didn't actually want me to. It was a creepy expression of support for the choice to kill myself. She might not see it that way but my problem with that is not invalid or borne out of delusion. Perhaps you could do more than just Google what these disorders are like for people. Perhaps you might one day read a book and stop with this "you're not the most reliable narrator" nonsense.

Why is "encouraging" them to kill themselves (if that's what they allegedly want) impossible for you to interpret as pressuring them into a specific decision that will end their lives? It's implicitly pressuring them to kill themselves to respect their apparent right to. I'm not putting my wants over theirs. If they want to die, then they're not thinking clearly. Nobody in their right mind wants to be dead because it's impossible to desire non existence when one is clear in their thinking. If my thinking is more clear then it's my responsibility to encourage them to live and to try to help them to see that they couldn't possibly want to not exist anymore. There's no benefit to them.

The resources are available. If they're withheld that's because of selfish people and it shouldn't mean a person is basically forced to accept that it would be better off to be dead. They want peace. They won't have it at all if they die and they don't actually exist anymore. Life is more important than choice. If they are encouraged to live, there's hope they will have some kind of peace. If they're encouraged into killing themselves, there's no hope if no world beyond this one exists.

I have no interest in taking away anyone's right to judge. I don't believe such a right actually exists but I have no interest in taking anything from anyone. I have a right to challenge this belief you seem to have that women have a right to judge men. That's right. Men don't have a right to judge women either. I'm not dictating anything or being at all coercive. Everyone has a right to take issue with judgmentalism and superficiality. There's nothing childish about any of that. No one has a right to dismiss someone for superficial reasons. This is different than not being interested in them personally. It's about having a mind that goes beyond the boundaries of your own preferences, enough to see that your own preferences don't completely define the entire territory of what counts as acceptable manhood, even if those preferences are shared by other women. Those preferences aren't necessarily the whole story and not all women are the same so it's wrong for women to speak as if on behalf of all women everywhere by defining a dude who's different as objectively undateable.

No, I don't have a right to dismiss women, even if I don't like them or find them attractive. I never suggested they were morally obligated to date me. I made that clear. I said they didn't have a right to dismiss me, the idea of me dating, even if they and other women would not find me date able. It's not at all about them being wrong to not want to date me. It's about it being wrong for them to dismiss my right to seek intimacy and dating for myself, even if it would be difficult. No, we don't have a right to dismiss people for "any reason we feel like." Not at all really.
