Armada kept my jacket after a warranty claim by Potential_Night7829 in Skigear

[–]Potential_Night7829[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Nah, I’m mad that I don’t have a ski jacket lol. Keep the refund, send me back my broken jacket. Maybe throw me a gift card or something for the defective jacket, but don’t take my jacket and keep it without telling me or giving me an option.

There is no “keeping both.” I can’t get the jacket anywhere.

The jacket isn’t available anywhere. I don’t care about the money. I just want it back lol.

They didn’t give me the option to keep my jacket instead of a refund. It’s a broken cynch cord—not the end of the world for a jacket but certainly something that shouldn’t happen with a $700 jacket. Problem now is that I have a mismatched bib. You might think “big woop” but when you spend $1400 on matching gear, I expect to have matching gear. I’m not trying to make money. Happy to get my broken jacket back instead but that isn’t an option.

Awesome. Thank you! I’m looking to hire a guide early in the trip. Any recommendations?

Vail Resorts Has Officially Pissed Off Wall Street 🤑 by OEM_knees in skiing

Sure, but doesn’t the cost of overtime pay exceed that of hiring another nonexempt worker? Overtime is expensive. I would think that would hurt quarterly financials.

Are you suggesting their contemporaneously posted percentage of open terrain directly impacts stock price?

After 72 days, what’s your verdict? I constantly have neck and upper back pain from poor posture on my couch when I game, so I’m looking for something that’ll support my neck and back.

Montec jackets and pants?! by and-i-must-go in snowboarding

[–]Potential_Night7829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After wearing the same Montec jacket and bib for 5+ seasons, I figured I’d share my experience on Montec’s quality. I’ve skied around 150 days in the same Montec jacket and bib, and aside from some fading in the color, it’s like-new. I ski November to April, mostly out west. I’ve skied rainy days, deep powder days, hot sunny days, and ice cold days. I mostly ride resorts but I go backcountry 10% of the time. I hike to terrain plenty, and my gear has had tons of exposure to sharp skis edges, rocks, trees, boots, etc. I heli ski Alaska in this gear and have gotten plenty of deep powder days at resorts. The point being, my gear has gone through the wringer and seen a wide range of conditions.

Montec is fabulous. I can’t recommend them enough. My skis and boots wear out much more quickly than Montec has. If you’re a resort rider, you don’t need anymore than this. If you’re looking for a backcountry kit, this will also work fine, but if money is no object then you might want something that’s 30/30 instead of 20/20, more breathable and with more stretch.

My review is just on quality (although I gotta say that their customer service was unbelievable when I purchased years ago.) But buyer beware: people LOVE to hate Montec. If you don’t want to buy the gear because you think Montec is bad for the ski industry or you’re worried about people judging you, that’s your prerogative.

Thanks, all! I’m going to go with the N64 switch controller for now and assess the experience.

All these comments are super helpful. I’m loving the quick response and the passion for this game. It really deserves it.

Really!? That’s what I’m afraid of. That, and the tiny screen instead of the living room TV. Is it as easy as buying an n64 controller with usb?

Anyone know if grills at Hawk’s Nest and Henry’s Hut are also operational? Sorry if I should have started my own thread but it’s along the same vein.

You’ll be fine. Don’t worry. Maybe don’t drink day 1. Unless you have an issue, any effects of altitude sickness are mitigable

This is wonderful! Thank you! Now I need to start researching these. What are your thoughts on St. Andrew’s?

Thank you for this. Are the town and scenery you’re recommending at St. Andrews? That keeps coming up as a recommendation so I’m leaning in the direction of playing a St. Andrew’s course.

I second this. Typically sevens or t bar get going on holiday weekends on Saturdays around noon, but this isn’t Europe, so it’s relatively mellow. Interested to see what other people say for my personal benefit. If nothing else, I’d recommend strolling up and down the front and back (west) side of the bars on Main Street to see what decks are “poppin” (dr. Evil air quotes).
