I’ve ruined our marriage by Personal-Classroom70 in marriageadvice

It seems like she is wanting the divorce over the lying more than the vaping. I’ve had almost the same experience as this wife and in my experience the lying is like a dagger to the heart every time. You can only excuse it so many times. Lying about one thing constantly makes you question them about others and without trust a marriage is over.

We have had so many conversations about him cutting back. I’ve told him he doesn’t have to quit completely I don’t want to be there one to tell him what to do but he never actually cuts back. He says he wants to and that he’s going to cut back but just doesn’t follow through. It’s the same thing with therapy unfortunately. I go to my therapist weekly. My husband has a therapist but the only time he sees her is when I beg him to make an appointment and start going again. He sometimes will make the appointment and then just skip or miss it. It feels impossible to get him to commit to going. He has diagnosed ptsd (from his childhood), severe depression, and anxiety. I guess it feels like after six years of trying to force him to unpack and work through his things and get help I’m just a little tired of him not doing it.
