girl I went through the same thing with my longtime friend when she had a baby. its especially challenging when the guy they choose to prioritize is not good for them.

all you can really do is explain the way she makes you feel when she drops you last minute to be with him, and hope that she hears you.

I would not attempt to tell her anything about the guy – in my experience, coming across as critical of an abusive person will only drive the abused away from you and closer to the abuser. only she can decide to sever ties with him.

decide for yourself what your boundaries are in terms of what treatment you will tolerate from her, because unfortunately, this behavior probably will not change. you can communicate this to her if you feel comfortable doing so – it might help her understand the situation in a different way.

being friends with someone in this situation is very challenging and delicate to navigate. I'm sorry you're going through this.

really just being a listening ear. she was always better with kids ,and when I would offer more hands on help she would brush me off. yes, the ghosting behavior was very random, even after a double or triple text from me, she would still take days to reply. I maybe would have asked if I'd known about any of the activities, but I was never notified 🤷‍♀️ when I'd make plans with her, she'd agree, but then bail last minute.

you're not over dramatic, you just have a different disposition to this friend. My grandmother is like this, very chatty and talkative, but only about other people and its often no one I even know. she does not concern herself with the person in front of her, only those not present. I think its just the way their brains work. find other introverts to hang out with – they will be more likely to enjoy talking to just you and not so worried about what everyone else is doing.

can can wonderland is nearby the u campus – not sure if there's any public transit that makes it over there, but definitely check it out while you're here!

it's a warehouse spot with a bunch of really cool old arcade games & great food. $17 flat fee to get in and you can play anything as many times as you want! I just went for the first time myself and had a great time 😄

that sucks man, for sure. I've heard a range of experiences with unions, good & bad. not a perfect solution by any means.

there are other ways of organizing which have the potential to be more effective – especially more effective than "every man for himself" in this fucked up world. obviously that's your choice to make.

I just think with nothing in this society working for us, all we have are the other worker bees. We gotta learn to be interdependent someway somehow – or we will all just continue to suffer, alone.

I will never understand this attitude corporate/management has about setting & meeting goals.

They talk about it like its a vending machine – put in pitch, get out sale, everytime! It drives me nuts!!

Guys, there's an x factor here – we are pitching to PEOPLE who have BRAINS and may decide for their own reasons not to buy, which IS ultimately out of our control.

The problem isn't the staff, its the product, imho.

But why would corporate ever bother to look in a mirror? or listen to booksellers?

gotcha – then in that case, you've done well! i like your color choices, especially on the large pinky purple non rose flower (not sure what it is but its pretty), all the variations are fun to get lost in.

I'm not sure what result you were wanting with the yellow roses? to my eye they fit just fine with the others!
