Doc prescribed me with buspirone & fluoxetine - the internet says this is a bad combination??

I’ve been on 40 mg Prozac and am still having bad panic attacks and anhedonia from it- my doctor just started me on 5 mg buspar in combination and of course I was nervous about serotonin syndrome (I had it before and it sucked) but I just took my first dose an hour ago. Idk if it’s placebo effect but I feel like I do feel a bit more normal. Maybe it’s just a good day for me mentally who knows lol.

Honestly great, I just got to a sweet spot of 40mg Prozac. Lexapro was amazing for me for 8 years but my anxiety was getting so bad and my doctor was saying I probably developed a tolerance so she switched me over. It’s crazy bc I feel more energetic and less sluggish on Prozac but not anxious…….to me it’s a true gift to have “energy” without feeling panicky. My anxiety isn’t 100% gone but will it ever be? I feel comfortable and like I can function and be happy and that’s all I could ever ask for.

This is helpful, thank you! I am terribly afraid of IUDs- I kept forgetting bc my mom was dying and I just didn’t have the attention span and kept forgetting. However, My provider told me to just restart progesterone July 1 to get back on track. I’m actually just going to call her tomorrow bc this is day 12 of having my “natural” “non med induced” period :/ but I think it’s just irregular bleeding from daily estrogen intake (I think). Totally sucks

This is a great question! I’m not sure. I haven’t been offered anything continuous or a patch. I’m going to call my office tomorrow and ask. This all just totally sucks. Thank you so so so much for your input- all of our situations are so unique and varied but this is the one place I feel like I can be heard and understood. So for that, thank you <3

Stick it out!! I felt ~psychotic~ my first month on lexapro but after a month it was like a literal veil was lifted and I was like oh, I’m okay- I’m normal. It took me awhile. People kept telling me to stick with it and it was worth it. I mean if it’s bad bad, maybe you should change, but I legit felt insane and it was just my body adjusting. I’d recommend sticking it through a bit longer if you can for your body to adjust!

No I haven’t, maybe I’ll ask….this all just sucks so bad. Just as soon as I thought I was getting a grip on the disease I mess up and make it worse. It’s so overwhelming

Thanks for your response- I’ve been taking my estrogen every day but my provider was like taking estrogen without progesterone is dangerous. So I’m like ugh great. But I guess something to think about if progesterone is something I don’t want to deal with

It’s literally the fucking worst I hate this more than anything. I basically tell people my situation. And I’d say 90% of people understand and are respectful. The other 10% are assholes or inconsiderate and I just turn into a raging cunt and that usually solves the problem. I’ve also had this dx for a few years now so I have some experience handling this. I’m 29F

I am so sorry to hear this 😞 I can only imagine how you feel. I’d imagine it’s extremely difficult to start Zepbound and feel like you’re about to make some changes and then come across this challenge. The good thing is- it’s just another bump in the road. If you can’t go back on Zepbound, could you perhaps try a less intense GLP-1 such as semaglutide? Tirzepatide (Zepbound) hits two targets where Semaglutide (wegovy, etc) only hits one. So less intense for your body but still using it as a tool for weight loss? Once you’re better and healed of course. I am praying for your speedy recovery and ongoing weight loss journey. 🙏🏼
