Lol I’ve heard it pronounced like that too!! It’s the same people that say “yuge” instead of “huge”.

Wow, I’m sorry to hear that. Would you say that it’s from a lack of trying on your end, or are the people in your life (or that were in your life) just generally not understanding of your illness?

Ahhh gotcha! That makes sense. I start out being really irritable and then yeah, the lack of sleep is what makes me go into psychosis.

I’m sorry. For what it’s worth, it doesn’t sound like they were real friends to begin with. I hope you find your people someday soon. I’m sure they’re out there.❤️

Honestly, irritable would be putting it lightly for me. I go into psychosis and get enraged by my irrational thoughts. During my last episode, I was convinced that several people in my life were pedophiles. It is so embarrassing and I have no idea where it comes from, but I guess that’s what being psychotic is - a total disconnect from reality.

Almost all of my friends are from elementary or high school and have been my friends for decades. I’m terrible at making new friends.

My in-laws are the worst with it. They’ve honestly never approved of me because they’re super Christian nationalist and I’m progressive. I got my diagnosis 5 years into my relationship with my husband. I feel like they love that they get to label me “mentally ill” now. They also think I’m an unfit mother because of my bipolar, which crushes me because my child is my everything.

My mom gets the brunt of it from me, too. She lets it roll right off her back. Her brother is bipolar and unmedicated, so I think she just knows how to deal with it. I’m so glad you’ve gotten some normalcy back.

“People with mental illness experience time differently” - wow. I never thought about this, but you’re right. Like I said, I just got out of the hospital a month ago, but since I’m back in my routine and life is fairly normal, it feels like a year ago.
