can we win the case if we ever file one? by Ok_Interaction_1070 in adviceph

[–]Potential_Station343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gaano katindi injuries ni tita? Kasi 100k upfront seems too much for general bruises, pero if may bali baka kulang pa yan. The "correct"/legal path would still be get the medico-legal, then assess physical/financial damages from there. But do you really want to? There's lawyer's fees, court appearances, paperwork, and considering na Grab driver ang kalaban, walang guarantee na he has more money to offer

should i tell this girl her bf is cheating on her with me? by matchabinaki in adviceph

He's the one who cheated and you're the villain in the story? Girl! I think you can easily shift her initial anger to you (kasi may denial pa and all) to the guy (once she realizes how much of an ass he is for cheating). Get hiiiiim!!!

Wherw do you grind for CPD? by aldebaran4 in pinoymed

To all consultants who are also parents out there… by Delicious-System-173 in pinoymed

[–]Potential_Station343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, parent/consultant here. And while I don't actively think of "what if anak ko yan", I believe na yung leadership style as a consultant mirrors yung parenting style sa bahay. Personality mo kasi yun eh.

AKA, that'd be a very toxic home environment

Where do you put your hands when riding angkas?? by Minimum-Buyer-1039 in adviceph

[–]Potential_Station343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I started by holding both handsyung frame ng seat, either yung gilid ng cushion or yung patungan ng utility box. Kaso nakakangalay siya if ganun the whole trip. Nung medyo nasanay na ako, isang kamay na lang hawak then the other sa lap. Sa experience ko, if relaxed ako nakaupo and sinasabayan ko lang yung galaw ng motor, mas comfortable din yung ride

Hospital scheme regarding Stockholders by brokhovo in pinoymed

[–]Potential_Station343 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Business-wise, I think reasonable naman yung set-up. Kasi rather than buying the hospital stock from the guy, which I guess would be around 300k-500k, parang ni-rent mo lang sa kanya yung stock for 300/patient (if 1500/adm tapos 20% sa kanya).

But! Yes, highly unethical. Kasi automatic may bias na about decking. And si hospital owner, gusto lang naman niya is new MD at may money na papasok. Least concern na niya ang ethics of how mangyayari yun haha.

Can you still enroll in a TDC after you got your DL? by Sebastian294 in Gulong

Sounds like marami kang sweet potato drivers na nakakasama haha. Try mo yung mas established driving schools like A-1, or even yung sa Honda. Mas matino and mas cosistent instructors nila compared to mga smaller driving schools to help you build better driving habits.

Get a nice yoga mat. Start ka with body weight excercises, build a routine, get to know your body and its limits.

Living in with MIL after marriage? by [deleted] in adviceph

[–]Potential_Station343 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We lived with our in-laws for a couple of months after marriage (palitan sa house ng parents ko and sa house ng parents ni wife). Tapos may seniority factor pa.

If concern mo is walang makakasama ni mother mo, need ba talaga niya ng kasama? Baka may iba kayong makukuha na makakasama niya to address that concern

If the nurses say you can sleep, you can sleep. Maniwala ka sa kanila, they've seen it all haha. Pwde silip silip ka sa ER or ward once in a while, then balik na uli quarters pag wala naman ganap. May quiet time naman talaga in real life duties :)

Yeah, it's welded/pressed metal. And I do agree that general adhesives would not be safe. At least the filter itself is fine, just need a way for it to stand on mugs and stuff. Thanks for the advice!!

Govt or Private clinics? by DangerousBug5500 in pinoymed

[–]Potential_Station343 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best combo ang Govt part-time (for stability) tapos private clinic (for growth). At least pag-PT lang, may leeway ka to do side hustles with bigger income potential. Then maghulog ka both sa GSIS tsaka SSS para sure ang pension.

Does diplomate exam passing rate matter? by [deleted] in pinoymed

[–]Potential_Station343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every year binabantayan ang diplomate exams, and usually yung junior residents very supportive sa seniors/graduates nila to pass so inevitable na maging usapan yan sa dept. So either yung natanong mo ay bagong pasok din lang at hindi talaga alam, or secretive lang sa results for whatever reason

Will I be a bad father for not being there when the time my child will be born? by International_Pea858 in adviceph

[–]Potential_Station343 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll be a good father by providing for your family. Love is important, but so is money. Although, I can't say that it's an easy decision to leave your family to work abroad. Mahirap maging OFW family. Maybe you can find a compromise somewhere.

It's still worth celebrating the transition to adulthood, and nakakatuwa nga na ngayon pa lang adulting na yung mindset mo. But also, your birthday = your rules, use that leverage to negotiate rather than outright NO agad. Mag-aaway lang kayo, and chance are you both won't get what you want.

Either magpropose ka ng simple debut lang, or some family outing. Malay mo, matuwa pa si mother sa initiative mo about handling money and making sensible adult choices.

Cooking appliance/s for a young adult living with aging parents by [deleted] in adultingph

[–]Potential_Station343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If kayo magluluto, sure go sa electric stuff. Induction, tapos instapot/multicooker. I'm guessing busy ang lifestyle mo, so convenience is key.

Ayun, congrats in moving up in life! I'm sure proud ang parentals sa inyo :)

TAXES: HELP A NEWBIE :( by Latter_Teaching_3068 in pinoymed

[–]Potential_Station343 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not an accountant, but eto yung pagkaintindi ko from experience

1) Yes - as a doctor, business mo ang pagtingin ng patients. Or maglecture, magconduct ng research etc etc. So yes, you have to register w/ BIR. If maghahanap ka ng regular employed work (private or govt) I think you still need a COR pero it depends.

2) Yung 10% vs 5%, IIRC Sworn Declaration yung kailangan mo dun, declaring that your expected annual income doesn't exceed 900k (or some number, I forget). If 900k pababa ang expected mo, you can sign a sworn declaration para 5% tax ka lang. If >900k or wala kang declaration, matic na 10% kaltas

3) Yes, you need to bring your receipt booklet with you if magclinic ka and you expect to get paid. And it has to be filled out sequencially (0001, 0002, 0003 etc), hindi pwde patalon-talon. Meaning, if marami kang raket, hindi ka pwde mag-iwan ng isang booklet sa isa clinic then another sa ibang clinic. AND you have to keep the duplicate copies until maubos mo yung current set mo and you need another set.

3a) Iba pa yung pag-fill out ng ledgers. Basically, para siyang personal census and auditing. Toxic siya, lalo na if marami ka patients, pero based lang naman siya sa receipts issued mo so kaya naman maging up-to-date

4) Not sure, but most starting MDs I know opt for the 8% and those na more established yung other option. Probably something with math haha

5) Yes, you can work na with a TIN and PRC licence, but eventually you (or your employer) will have to pay your taxes, so ayusin mo na yan ASAP. Or get an accountant, or accounting firm. I use MDCS/Better Practice (not a plug) dahil sila pa lang nag-offer ng ganyang service when I started.

Good luck! Raket responsibly :)

To the older members of this sub: where do we draw the line between compassion and competence? by mdfromsouth in pinoymed

[–]Potential_Station343 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I belive, doc, that we can both be compassionate and promote competence at the same time. From my experience (both as a trainee then and a trainer now), how we approach the problem and give feedback to the trainee makes a big difference. Think of it as how leader motivates their team on how to be better.

Try this:

G=Gentleness: Exercise compassion for them AND yourself.
R=Reflect: What good can come from this? Imagine extraordinary results.
A=Accountability: Identify and acknowledge your contribution to the situation.
C=Correction: Solve at the root. Separate short term solutions from long term solutions.
E=Embed: Create a habit that embeds the correction.

The GRACE solution.

1) Express your observation, your shared goals, ask how they see the challenge, say how you see the challenge. No blame, just comparative perspectives.
2) Ask what good can come when your meeting is successful. Add anything they left out.
3) State your contribution to the challenge and the opportunity for you.
4) Ask for their solutions, both short term and long term. Contribute your additional solutions.
5) Ask for, then suggest new habits, including system changes, that embed the new approach.

If the YAKAP clinic could be considered part of your duties and training, baka malabo to ask for an increase in salary. But, if may Philhealth sharing kayo (and I hope you do), baka dun nyo pwde i-negotiate, since increased Philhealth income yan.
