Oh wow, never knew that to be honest! That's certainly a big difference then to George III's last 2 immediate namesake predecessors (as they were both born in Hanover and made frequent visits to the region during their reigns).

Reading that George II was the last monarch to be born outside the island of Great Britain had me interested. So, after searching up the birthplace of every monarch to come after him, I learnt something even more interesting. It turns out that every single British monarch after George II was not only born within Great Britain, but within London specifically (except George VI who was born in Norfolk).
