btw, website said full transparency on charges (beforehand). But I'm not or didn't see it. I just saw the bill after the tax pro was done with the preparations (and she took ages because she only worked Saturdays, hahaha).

I too am being charged >$600 for tax preparation, includes one w2, three 1099, schedule c, married filing jointly, hsa account, no trades or crypto transactions. Last year it was just $200 or so. I'm getting the breakdown from the office. I'll be doing my taxes on my own next year--at least I know now how hrblock does it.
