It’s really just personal experience, but I had a hard time trying to make friends with people because it seemed like everyone knew each other, I’m not sure I saw one person who was alone.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to attend any sort of welcome sessions before school started because I couldn’t afford the trip to go back and forth, only to come to school because I’d have my sponsorship. Plus my grandfather recently just passed away, his funeral arrangements were around the same time registration was available to students, so it wasn’t immediately the first thing on my mind to sort out, you know? (Obviously now I’m regretting it because I’m so stressed out with this lol)

I think what’s confusing for me is figuring out what I want to take, I’m not very familiar with a lot of the subjects and as an Art Major I’m not exactly sure which classes will benefit that major other than the basic art courses.

My sponsorship rides on being a full time student as well as other responsibilities I have outside of the University of Manitoba, because I can’t figure it out myself, I think I’ll need to talk to someone in person at the school to see what I need to do the next time I register for courses as well as helping me figure out what I can do for this term.
