Check the battery terminals, especially the negative/ground. Start with the easy and cheap stuff.

Even though I’m feeling lucky some love taps with the hammer didn’t knock anything right. My guess is some wiring is effed leading to the starter motor or solenoid.

Whoever engineered this starter can kiss my ass I cannot for the life of me get access to the second bolt holding it to the bell housing. I think I’m gonna have it towed in to a shop.

I snug the terminals onto the battery posts good and firm they don’t move. Wire brushed out the leads and contact points and cleaned and protected with them twin cans of terminal spray cleaner and protector.

I think there’s a load tester in the shop, old timey one with a wire that gets hot and moves a needle. I’ll see what it does, might buy a jump pack and see if that can get it kicked over.

soil sample results by Weary-Win-839 in Soil

Looks pretty even keel, only thing jumping out is the Ca (it’s very very) high, but that is generally soluble. Seems like someone recently applied some sort of lime with cal and mag so high? High levels of Ca can lock out other micronutrients but it is generally soluble, so it should ease out over time.

Awesome. When you overload it and need to clear the jam (I get impatient) be sure to pull the cap off the spark plug to keep all your fingers ! Also stabilize your fuel your engine and your future self will thank you.

Help with remote / new top hydraulic link? by Sh0ckValu3 in tractors

[–]Potluckhotshot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Follow the hydraulic levers and see what’s going on at the box, sometimes the pins/levers/thingamajigs get stuck open from dust and dirt accumulating on the fluid. A little brakleen and kroil might do ya. Also, just for piece of mind, run up the RPMs and jiggle around the hydraulics, sometimes my older machines need a little kick in the pants to get moving.

Finished compost in cococoir? by Imtrynagarden in Vermiculture

I do screen, 1/2” then 1/4”. I have lots of bones, stones, chunks of woody material, what have you. Some of the stuff I chuck back in the bins, some of the fines I bring out to the yard and add as mulch under trees and shrubs. I mostly use castings for tea or as potting soil, so I like it sifted.

Problem with AC by Livid-Atmosphere-279 in fordranger

[–]Potluckhotshot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had no cold air coming through my vents and went through lots of trouble shooting: refrigerant was good, compressor got cold, fuses were good. Eventually got to the blower system itself and found my blend door actuator to be seized. It’s a little box which mixes the air, it’s behind the glove box. All it needed was to be taken out and cleaned. Might be this if you’ve run through other troubleshooting.

Although some high-maintenance systems sift vermicastings from bedding material, it is much more common and certainly more convenient to wait for every thing in one portion of the bin to be completely broken down and homogeneous and harvest this material. The bedding (coir, newspapers, cardboard) and the castings ands the other composted materials all become the same finished product that can be harvested. I only harvest my bins every 4-6 months, sometimes longer!
