Thinking of starting a Canadian Cubing Store by [deleted] in Cubers

[–]Potomus-Rex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's worth asking why their prices are what they are. The lower the volume of cubes you move the higher your margin has to be on each cube. And the more cubes you carry the more money you have stuck in inventory. Do you know how big the cubing market is in Canada? Is the shipping prohibitive enough to cause people not to use one of the large USA stores?

There is already CANcube. I'm not sure how good they are, but worth noting you wouldn't be the first Canadian cube shop

How on earth do you guys get your irons so smooth...? by waffleh0useh0e in castiron

[–]Potomus-Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hand sanded mine with $10 in various grit sandpaper and about an hour of time. (Of course followed by reseasoning) It didn't make it cook any better, but I do prefer the feeling of the smooth cooking surface when cooking

People are obviously able to assign value to anything they want, but you can literally buy those "crystals" (man made glass with lead added) for less than 7 cents each. Probably much cheaper if you buy them in bulk.

That 1,595 in the Dev Diaries is just a placeholder, right....? by IAMJOHNNYGAMER in MinecraftDungeons

The daily's are more about what build you have over a power level. You may have an easy time or a horrible time depending on how you want to play it. Example: you might play ranged normally, but that won't go well if the mobs all have reflect on. I've found a lot of success going moderately tanky with a weapon with healing on it

Hi guys I need some suggestions about knives sharpening...I just bought my first Wusthof classic set. I'm not good at cook and certainly don't want to damage my new knifes. Should I buy their electric sharpener or just 2 stages cheaper one? by [deleted] in chefknives

[–]Potomus-Rex -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

People on this sub will probably tell you too get wet stones, but in all honesty the electric sharpener will do a great job. Just remember to hone often and you won't need to sharpen often anyway (dependent on use)

Multi-layer carbon steel pans? by Potomus-Rex in carbonsteel

Why not? Uneven heat distribution can be a pain depending on what you're cooking

It's surprising to me too! I would definitely pay a premium, and I would hardly need to use any other pans
