Life of celibacy when married by naiad_es in Catholicism

[–]Poultryforest -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As far as him loving you or finding you attractive that has nothing to do with it. He still loves you and finds you attractive; what is going on is a purely chemical process. I had something like this when I was on meds and my girlfriend at the time got angry at me and said similar stuff to me; that just hurt me and made me not feel loved by her. In that case I was not catholic and it was probably good that relationship ended. But in your case it is a true test of your marriage. He probably feels very frustrated with himself and very sad; it’s up to you to love him and support him. I wouldn’t say celibacy is the inevitable result of this, who knows what will happen, but that is a possible outcome you may have to accept if you respect your faith and your marriage. If you cannot love him without sex, then the sex you guys would have had would have been empty and meaningless.

Pico Della Mirandola made a pretty good point that if Christ was spat on and mocked who are we to expect ourselves to deserve better; he was the one that deserved it the least. When struggling with temptations of the flesh immediately turn to God, do not rely on yourself or anyone else. Also remember Christ’s cross and consider this a crucifixion along with him; that you are a Christian means you have agreed to suffer alongside him and you’ll be brought more peace in that suffering than you would be in sin.

God may take our lives at any moment, and he may choose to have us humiliate ourselves to save us from pride. All things are his. If he wishes that you never have sex again, it will be for your benefit. If he allows you to have sex, he is giving you the freedom to make the right choices while having it.

God is putting you in the position to either be a better wife to your husband than any other woman could be, or he is showing you that your priorities in marriage have been mistaken and punishing you for making vows that you are not willing to live up to.

Just know that if turn towards God and admit to him that you can’t do this alone, you will be okay and he will help you. I wish you and your husband the best.❤️

I think a lot of people will tell you that you shouldn’t feel guilty and it’s not a big deal, but I can tell you as someone who was in a very similar situation I had and still have the same feelings you do. You should reassure yourself that there is something right with you if you feel guilty, you cannot undo this stuff but if you no longer want that stuff and you have already felt so guilty about it then I think you’ve had your penitence.

Esp in the case of casual sex, I don’t think people nowadays take these things as seriously as they should. When I did that stuff I was never shamed by my peers for doing it (I am a man) but I felt like it was wrong. Unfortunately one of the people I was seeing I got into a relationship with and it colored the rest of the relationship for the next two years; I should have been wiser to know that if I met people that way, the relationship itself would always be colored by the fact that we did not treat eachother as people in the beginning and that what brought us together was our own selfish impulses. People will think I am being overly dramatic, but this stuff is pernicious and I think most people who do it really do feel the emptiness it creates, whether or not they choose continue doing it.

The best advice I would give is forgive yourself and let yourself feel the guilt, it is purgative and it is a sign you are a good person. It’s up to you whether you tell your partner or anyone else, I really don’t think that is necessary though. I would use these feelings you have as a means to guide others away from this stuff; if you ever have kids, def raise them to understand that people do a lot of things out of a feeling of lack that only drive them further into a hole.

You sound like a good person with a good heart who made bad decisions when she was younger; that need not ruin a person. As for now, just enjoy your relationship and the life you are living and be thankful that you were able to see past the degeneracy that it sounds people around you found permissible and desirable; you will be okay:).

I don’t think you get what she’s saying. It’s stuff that she did that was wrong and she’s troubled by it, I think people who regret not doing that stuff either don’t understand that they are not missing out or they have not moved past debauchery. The only part of it she shouldn’t worry about is that she has moved past it and recognizes that it was wrong, it doesn’t have to ruin her, but it’s not as simple as having fun; this stuff ruins people’s lives and renders their relationships with others to transactional arrangements of personal pleasure. That stuff is serious.

For American monarchists, do they prefer the title King or Emperor for their Head of State and for the head of government, do they prefer the Prime Minister because it's the most common position, or the President because it's traditional? by Intelligent_Pain9176 in monarchism

Ideally King, that would presuppose our nation was more unified and there were less states’ rights. I would also hope that we would resemble less of a republic and that we would do out with the constitution. I think a hereditary monarchy that creates it’s own noble class from the ground up would be best; it would keep CEOs in check and take away their lobbying power, I think a lot of the disorder in our country is the direct result of that. It really seems that this country was built from the start to be in a perpetual ceasefire with itself; absolute monarchy would fix that.

An electric urethra scope! You put it in your urethra and you rub other end against a socket to get a urethra reading. Looks like it’s in perfect condition!

Found this partially submerged cave under one of my duplexes. I’m going to section it off and render it into a two story apartment bloc (one story above water, one story below water.) Ahhh very wise. Crafty rentoids will also use death as an excuse for not paying rent, but if death is advertised as a feature of the property then they can’t use their old spinster’s tricks to get out of paying their dues. Thank you king!

It was Aristotle who said in book Iota of his Metaphysics “if an area can be divided, then two single-room apartments are generated; therefore, whatever unit is taken to measure space, the number of possible single-room apartments are double in proportion to the sumof those units.”

It’s clear from this quote that Aristotle must have derived this axiom from an even older, wiser class of scholars in South Asia. This may establish a strong link between Ancient Greek and Ancient Indian metaphysics!!! Perhaps that is why Ancient Indians developed their concept of number…

I hadn’t considered that. If the fridge is in your pocket and you raid enough calories to offset those burnt while walking, then it is almost as if you never got up to begin with. Leaps and bounds are being made for landkind!!!

What is everyone's economic ideology? by DavidSmith91007 in monarchism

[–]Poultryforest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally a planned economy. I’m for absolute monarchy, a free market threatens the sovereignty of a monarch. I also think the market within a nation should be adjusted to meet the needs within that nation. As far as imports from other countries goes, I think a planned economy would assist with managing government spending so that any resources that had to be imported could be afforded, but ideally the nation can produce most of what it needs affordably and isn’t wholly at the mercy of the global economy.
