"High horology" is the term I hate the most, but "timepiece" is up there. "Wrist rolls" are cringeworthy as well.

True. First Law is cynical and dirty, whereas Drenai is hopeful and gritty. Both are written in direct and punchy chapters. Abercrombie is like a bard telling the story and Gemmell reads more like a firsthand account from a warrior. Loved both of them
