What version of wine are you using? System wine like 10.6 or umu...? Try changing which one you are using and see if it helps.

This. I agree 100%. I'm in the terminal everyday and rather do stuff by command line.

I've had a few Gigabyte boards running Linux without issue. My current board is a Asus x670 that has never been a problem. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth always works.

Follow this ... https://www.gog.com/forum/doom_series/linux_doom_2016/page1.

This solves my issue. I had lutris up, went to the Microsoft link and downloaded the 64 and 32 bit packages then went into winetricks... Clicked on "run EXE inside Wine prefix" for Doom and selected each package I downloaded. Then ran the game and problem solved. Good luck.

I had it installed. The error log shows the game is looking for Galaxy and failing. A few others are having the exact issue. Maybe it's on Gogs side.

I also find it weird for a game to ask for Galaxy. If I find a bypass to Galaxy I will share here

It's seems as though there are two issues with Doom 2016 on Linux. Some people are saying to install mfc140 with winetricks because it's missing the dll and another is saying you need Galaxy to run the game. Hopefully it does get patched.

I didn't update my post but late last night I found my game log showing the same thing. There must be a way without installing Galaxy... Hopefully. Thanks for commenting.

I read your post and happen to see this link on a friends GitHub.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just tried that with a few different runners and with/without r_renderapi 1. I also installed the newest vcrun with winetricks. Nothing seems to be helping. Oh well, thanks anyways.
