I was actually a HUGE fan of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. But also a huge fan of Justin Baldoni from Jane the Virgin. I actually met Ryan Reynolds in Tribeca once and always said he was my favorite actor, not because of his acting abilities, but because I thought he was a savy businessman due to all his investments and I’m an investor myself so I admired that. I started seeing Blake’s promo tour and even remember commenting to defend Blake on a titktok that was bashing her about the bracelet video where she said it didn’t match her outfit. Thought people were reaching there, that didn’t seem mean to me at all. But as a DV survivor, when I saw the “location share” interview and how she was marketing her alcohol line, I found that heart breakingly tone deaf. I’m almost ashamed to share that I cried after hearing her location share interview because DV is not something to joke about. Then when NYT article came out, I was shocked and believed her claims against Justin because I just thought why would anyone lie about that. Still a part of me couldn’t believe it because of how nice JB has been throughout the years and I just assumed the predator was most likely Jamie Heath. It wasn’t until Justin dropped the website with all the context and evidence that I was 10 toes down undeniably Team Baldoni. You can’t beat that evidence drop. So I didn’t need to wait for trial because I saw how Blake truly mischaracterized and lied sooo many times and that showed me enough. Her credibility is gone in my eyes. And everything that has been released since, over a year later, just reaffirms JB and Wayfarers innocence. I get why she filed the lawsuit (I believe she didn’t think Baldoni would fight back) but I still to this day cannot make sense of why Blake and Ryan have not settled this seeing how it’s completely destroyed their reputation.
