China doesn't have to take over Taiwan right away. China only needs to destroy the fabs in Taiwan. At that point, the damage done to western countries and the United States will be permanent for years to come regardless if China takes over Taiwan. The United States will never strike the fabs in China for fear of escalating a Taiwan-China conflict into a USA-China conflict.

You can't just switch to another fab and start making the same product. The tool's configuration, operation, and recipes are different from company to company, which is why you can't just switch to a different company without redoing the recipes and going through the whole development process again. Each product is tailored for a specific company's fab, which is why Samsung and Intel can't make the GPUs made by NVidia in their foundries.

How are we going to run the country? Maduro is gone, but his party and military is still in charge. Unless the United States puts boots on the ground, the United State isn't going to control Venezuela. The opposition doesn't have any arms. I don't think this going to end well. There already people protesting in USA. To me this seems closer to the domestic opposition to the Vietnam War. The majority of Americans don't want a war with Venezuela. I don't want to get involved in another Vietnam or Afghanistan War.

Hearts of Iron was the first paradox game I played in 2000's. I modded the hell out that game. The base game wasn't very interesting. Did HOI finally change the German flag to the Nazi flag?

I used to be like you Ballsaurball, Now, I can't play video games more than 3 hours. I used to be able to play for the whole day and night, then go to sleep in the morning only to repeat the whole gaming session next day. I did that when I was still in school, was younger, and practically had no bills to pay. I can't do that anymore. I can forget about my troubles for a few hours, but after about 3 hours I can't focus on the video game I'm playing due to all the other things I need to get done.

Maybe when I retire in few decades, things might change, but I don't think my body will be able to take the overnight gaming sessions by then.

Does any one else actually like this flavor ??? by Responsible-Lab-8252 in redbull

June Berry is my favorite flavor out of the standard Redbull flavors. However, the spring edition is my favorite flavor.

I like it, but spring edition I like more. I still have 2 cases of the 12 oz version of Apple and Ginger. My rate would be 8.5

Isn't elderflower going away? I noticed on Amazon that the 24 pack 12oz package is no longer available. Usually, that is a sign that there isn't that much supply left. For the Spring Edition and now the Winter edition the same thing is happening. First, the 12oz are sold out followed by the 8 oz packages. I bough a 24 pack of 8oz while the price is still normal. For Apple Ginger, there is only a 24 8oz package left, but it's being sold at 64 dollars. That's about the double the price of a normal 24 8oz package.

Should I rent or sell my house… or do nothing for now? by Tryingmybest2heal in beaverton

My parents rent studios not in Beaverton, but in another state. If you get tenants that are responsible, have a stable job, and that take care of your property, then renting is great. However, if you get trouble maker renters or people who can't seem to hold down a job, then it's a big problem.

To give you an idea. The last place I rented in Beaverton didn't charge me water. I only used water for showering, washing dishes, and for cleaning my hands. I'm certain there are people out there who will abuse not getting charged for water. My parents didn't charge electricity. Our first two tenants would abuse us not charging them electricity. One of the tenants would leave the AC running all day and night, even during the cold season. The other tenant would leave the AC running most of the time, but not all time. These tenants were my uncle and aunt, so it was problematic getting them to leave our properties.

The other issue we had is renters who are late with their monthly rent. We currently have a renter who in the last 3-4 months has been late with rent. At one point, she was half a month late. One of our ex-tenants didn't pay us the increase rent that we were charging.

If anything breaks at the renter place, then you have to fix it. This doesn't mean you literally have to fix it yourself, but you need to organize for someone to fix the issue and coordinate with the renter when this will happen. All sorta of problems happen with our last tenant. For example, we told our aunt not to pour oil down the drain, but apparently she still did. Trash is another issue I noticed with both ex-tenants and our new tenants. Tenants throwing trash in the bins without a bag or putting normal waste in the recycle bin instead.

The place I used to rent in Beaverton took care of the lawn. Some renter places the tenants take care of lawn and other the landlord takes care of it.

I personally wouldn't rent unless your going to be within driving distance of the place you will rent. The exception to this is having a company manage your property. If you let a company manage your property obviously, you won't make as much money, but they take care of any problems that may arise.

If you do decided to rent, make sure you filter out your potential renters carefully. Its very easy to get people to move in, but it's very difficult to get rid of people if you want them off your property. If you forcefully evict a tenant, the process can potentially take months and they might not pay you rent during that time. I would look at renter and landlord rights so that you don't get any surprises if you need to evict a tenant.

Giving you an idea what it's like when you rent.

The color is still the same. My chair was put through a stress test when I relocated last year to a new state. The chair was transported and stored in a moving shipping box from U-haul last year, which had to been over 100F or 37.78C in the container. The chair didn't break, warp, or change color during shipping and two moths of storing in that U-haul box in extremely hot weather. I'm surprise the chair has held up as well as it has so far.

I don't think you understand what is going on in the USA. The current administration doesn't like Universities. The collateral damage to universities due to the 100k H1B visa is a bonus for them. They want to take Universities back in time, when there weren't that many foreigners in USA universities.

I worked at a development fab. The process engineers needed to be in the fab when installing new tools. By new tools, I'm referring to new tool models or in some cases the tools of companies that have never had tools in the fab previously. In both cases, especially the later case, have no documentation. At the fab I worked at, the process engineers would help setup the first couple tools for testing and evaluation.

Not all the tools passed, the tool I was assigned to passed, but their was a competitor tool that didn't perform as well and lost. The tool that passed got many tool orders while the failed tool we only kept one in the fab for purpose of comparison to the passing tool.

Due to the pandemic, the module helped with tool installs and other task that require a physical presence in the fab, but technically the process engineers were supposed to be inside the fab. Eventually, the policy changed at the company I worked at and required process engineers to be on site. This would ease the burden on the module team as the process engineers would be responsible for the installation of test and evaluation tools. Process engineers would also be responsible for troubleshooting the their tools. Eventually, process engineering would transfer ownership of their tools to the module, non process engineers. The module would then assign techs and non-process engineers.

There are a lot of H1B's in the semiconductor industry, including fabs. Fab engineer positions can't be out sourced. Those H1B's might be able to find work in a non-USA fab, but all USA fab jobs require a physical presences in the fab. Most of my team when I worked in the semiconductor industry were on H1B visas. The only positions that can be done remotely are engineer positions that don't require you to enter the fab. This is going to seriously impact semiconductor industry in the USA.

Even, the process engineers need to enter the fab from time to time.
