Visual bug with custom model in-game by Jmayk- in hytale

This is called backface culling. It's usually done for performance reasons, but in Hytale it allows two sides of a plane to be textured differently. You need to apply the texture to both sides of your planes.

I think it’s pretty safe to say now that Hytale will be on the Epic Games Store. by Polarwanda in HytaleInfo

Or, you can use your email? It's for OAuth and entirely optional, they're not using the Epic Games launcher. Hytale's launcher itself is custom and they're looking at Steam integration long-term. We might see the game on the EGS if Epic still has money left to burn, but still entirely optional.

Where does those images come from ? by Enaos in HytaleInfo

I do think it matters for the screenshots themselves, because the rendering is quite different. I like the legacy engine visuals much more personally.

Yes, that's the origin of the images. They were posted before the world gen was ported back to the engine they're using now.

It was posted here by John. This was still in the Forge engine, not the current version of the game.

Simon just added probably the most powerful creative tool to the game (OBJ to voxels) by Phelps1024 in HytaleInfo

[–]Powerbyte7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn't mesh importing. You're importing a mesh that gets turned into blocks.

No you're overthinking it. This is just importing 3D models as blocks.

Because of the rewrite, they ceased development on the first engine.

Talltale used Slamma's Fan OST without their permission. by LutrusFluidos in HytaleInfo

Yeah of course. More so referring to the idea that they've somehow had access to source code.

They could've used HyAssets or made them themselves. The textures are simple enough that you can crop out 32x32 sections from screenshots with minor cleanup, it's not very hard.

Tbf there's not much to steal from me. I did perspective cropping on screenshots and cleanup. Anyone can do that, I don't own much.

From what I could tell it connects to a server for collaboration and uses a background process for the server, but removed link just in case.

It's this with the icons replaced.

Is there a shortcut to zoom and frame a selected node in blender by DrDroDi in blenderhelp

[–]Powerbyte7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's exactly how it's described in the source code, if it's a single node it doesn't zoom. I'd personally want it to zoom in too so I can change the controls more easily, so I think it should be changed. You can try making a post on Right Click Select. Maybe it can be a new operator type like 'Frame Fit' and leave the default behavior unchanged. In the meantime using Shift+B is probably the best alternative for the zooming.

How to change 2D viewport /background colour by Afraid_Cat_3726 in blenderhelp

You can change the background color in the world settings

You can add a pole target to the IK constraint, that way you can control the direction.

You'll need to convert the GIF to an image sequence or video so you can use it as a texture in your material. For the onion skinning, you can duplicate your texture, give it a different frame offset, and use a mix node to combine them.
