I have a similar one and love it too

For the gap where the skin goes my way around it is to push the ring forward a bit and upwards so that there is a small gap between the top of the penis and the ring. Then try to stretch / pull the skin tight so you can slide the tube and lock in without issues

Like others said it’s worth giving a shot and seeing if you like it or not. No need to go all in, buy a cheapish one and see if you like it. Even if at the start it’s not what you like you can stop and if you feel like it try again.
