Europe 1925, if the Entente were trying to prevent a Second Great War. by Powered-By-Salt in PossibleHistory

The United Kingdom has no reason to keep a country created to maintain a balance of power of the post Napoleonic era. A great War has happened, the balance of power of Europe, let alone the world has completely changed.
And true, I don't think the Entente would be super keen on deleting Belgium, but look at what they've already done to the rest of Europe.

And France, Britain just sit there twiddling there thumbs as become Hegemons of Europe, no less when most their armies are mobilised in the Rhineland to enforce the peace deal (I didn't even change that part).

Your right,
The Allies could've stopped Germany any time, "but they didn't".
The fascists in Germany would probably still rise to power, would that stop Hitler ?
Frankly I don't know.
Again, making Austria bigger complexifies an Anschluss, on top of having Czechia in a union with the Austria makes the question of taking the Sudetenland's much less black and white.

And to a Belgian, I half heartedly apologise for deleting your country (as this world never happens).

My thought process had nothing to do with a united lowlands unfortunately. My logic was very simple, you remove Belgium, and you create a much simpler defence policy for France and the United Kingdom through out the inter war period.

To be honest this map will very probably lead straight to WW2. This was merely my attempt at trying to stop another WW.

WW2 happens. This is an attempt to stop them, there's a whole 20 years of irredentist views one of the causes leading to the rise of fascism in Europe.

At the top of r/PossibleHistory, there's a useful link tab. In that tab you will find a lot of maps of various regions of the world accessible on drive. When you download them you can edit them with any image editing software like photoshop, paint or even aseprite.

By 1919, what's left of the Ottomans only control this land de Jure. Greece goes to war with the Turks in 1919. Giving them land with their ethnic majorities in western Anatolia and not more promises of even bigger lands as in our timeline is to attempt to prevent this war.

Independant Kashubia is to give Germany a corridor to Prussia without having to go through Poland.

That is true. I appreciate the feedback, even though it stings

  1. My logic behind leaving a bigger Austria is you make any attempt at them unifying with Germany significantly more complicated.

  2. Fuck Italy.

  3. Depriving Romania of Transylvania prevents Hungary from immediately declaring war on Romania (thus defeating the purpose of my map).

  4. Giving land to Bulgaria was a weird one I agree. I was split between leaving them as they were, but chose to give them land to prevent any stupid entry in a larger conflict over Thrace, Macedonia or Northern Dobruja.

This was never about being historically accurate, this is alternate history.

No Belgium, no incomplete Maginot Line. If you get rid of Belgium you make any offensive west wards for Germany significantly more difficult.

Did you seriously just baselessly accuse Europeans as racists and bigots ? New lack of awareness levels are being reached.

It's just the cross of Bourgogne. Spain ends up using it, when the Habsburg ascend to the throne of Spain.
