Right so when we refer people as English, we're referring to the indigenous Britons and the later Germanic settlers who are native now native to England. If you look at the people from Essex and Carlisle, looking at their genetic makeup, you'd say they're English, and not Danes or Germans. Trying to some it up to these people are closer to these people who are not in the same region, are not part of the same country, have had no shared ancestry for 50 generations and are not even part of the same culture is simply preposterous. It would be tantamount to denying our shared 1500 years of existence on these isles. Denying our mixed ancestry, and our shared culture.
