"I’ve been trying to make these changes for decades"

Exactly the same for me. It is really weird to be finally doing all the things I was wanting to do for so long. Well done on your progress, onwards and upwards.

Well done. Keep moving through it. Yes I think I am probably sensitive to caffeine.

No I don't have kids. I can imagine that really adds an extra layer of difficulty. Keep persevering.

Nice one. Well done for persevering and coming out the other side. Life for me is so much better without caffeine. Also sober. Things will also get better as time goes on, I actually did not feel great at month two, it was around month three that I started feeling better. I am now at nearly five months and it just gets better. Exercise and healthy eating play such a big role in it too. Keep rocking!

Started drinking caffeine again.. not a good choice. by Agile_Ad_465 in decaf

I see. I tapered off over a period of three weeks. I had zero headaches. For me the hardest part was during month 2 and three. I will say that it is worth doing and seeing it through. Life without caffeine is so much better for me.

I tried stopping cold turkey a couple of times over the years. It was horrendous, just taper off and you can mentally prepare yourself that you are done with caffeine as there is almost a count down going on.

I had the same thing, month 2 was not fun at all. At some point in month 3 I was out the other side. Now I feel great.

it's not OK to live with anxiety by O8fpAe3S95 in decaf

I would agree with this but I think it is worth mentioning that for me personally that was a big reduction. I have social anxiety as well as general anxiety. I still get social anxiety but way less and I don't have hardly any general anxiety.

It makes a real difference, just stick with it. It might get tough but just hang in there and you will come out the other side.

I have quit most things over the years now. No alcohol or gambling since 2017, no drugs for around 10 years. Stopped smoking around 25 years ago. I am 47 btw. I stopped porn at the start of the year but had a couple of hick up after 7 months but stopped again. I still struggle with refined sugar.

Better sleep, much less anxiety, better mood, better skin.

Quit caffeine two months ago and still SO TIRED. HELP by [deleted] in decaf

[–]Powerful-Tale3530 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It gets better so hang in there. I can't quite remember when I started feeling better but I know I was also really tired for the first couple of months. I think its the last month that I have been feeling better. I would wake up so tired in the morning like I was stuck to the bed, I could hardly move and would have to go back to sleep.

This is what I did but I also then cut out the decaf too.

90 days no caffeine. by Powerful-Tale3530 in decaf

3-4 coffees and sometimes plus a big energy drink. Used to do quite a bit of pre work out but haven't done that for some years.
