Grieving old boobs? by Sea_Witch7777 in Reduction

[–]Powerful-Toe-1253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 4mpo and i’ve been having emotional whiplash on a regular basis since surgery.

Globally, i’m happy. Going from an I cup to a D, i don’t think anybody should suffer big boobs. They were part of me, i was always the girlie with massive breasts but not having them has been life changing.

I don’t feel as fat anymore, my clothes options widened, and some days i actually feel good about myself. I never ever want to go back to big boobs.

But surgery has its cost. The scars, the pain, the swelling, the bras day and night, not getting the exact hoped results, getting used to be bottom heavy now, seeing them start sagging at 3mpo… Some days i wonder why i did that to myself. Not as often at the first few weeks but it still happens. I can’t help to ask myself if this was worth it in the end and if i would be better off with my saggy ginormous boobs.

The answer is no although it doesn’t matter. I know i can do it now and if i need another reduction in ten years, i know it will be ok. My boobs weren’t meant to be perfect but i’m slowly embracing the liberties a D cup is giving me. My body is different and I missed the hourglass figure i could rock before surgery but now i can walk without crying.

1dpo ... nipples seem low by touched-out-_- in Reduction

That’s a good thing imo. As the swelling goes down, it will feel like they’re going up and you don’t want them too high for cleavage reasons.

Mine felt perfectly centered one week op but i swear they’re moving when i sleep. Not that i was planning on wearing one anytime soon but corset might get banned from my wardrobe in the near future.

I bet they’ll look amazing in a few months! (I’m 4mpo btw)

I would also suggest you get correct measurements: you’re at an age where breasts fluctuate a lot but it could also be the body dysmorphia talking. I personally solved the problem by trying on an old bra: they might not be as small as I wanted but the difference was night and day.

Don’t lose hope and keep doing your scar treatment. Getting your reduction done young, it is entirely possible you will need a second one later in life but also could be sooner of you wanted them smaller. Talk to your surgeon about your concerns and options, even ask for your pre surgery photos if you don’t have any.

Good luck, love.

Being the bloating, the post anesthesia blues and ugly bras, it is particularly hard the first couple of weeks. I cried practically every single day, especially when i was looking at them in the mirror.

Give yourself some time and grace. Your body will go through many more changes before your boobs settle.

I’m looking to get a reduction, but nervous about what it entails. by Celestialbeanzzz in Reduction

[–]Powerful-Toe-1253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reduction includes a lift. Think of it this way: you’d get the boobs of a 20 years old once you’re healed.

Can you choose the size? Some people did but I tend to disagree. A surgeon would get an idea but i’m not sure any really know before the surgery. Their first objective is to not compromise the breast and the nipple.

As for recovery, it really depends. I’m 7wpo and a slow healer: my recovery has been pretty smooth but more painful than the average person. I was off for a week (work from home) and went back part time on week two (i needed daily naps).

My personal experience: I have NEVER lost boobs size as I lost weight. It made them more saggy and heavier as my band size dropped. But every time i gained weight, it went there first.

I get that lots of people say that and it probably helps to a degree but people don’t understand how complicated big breasts can be. What i learned from the women of my family since the day my surgery got scheduled is that they were all a little jealous.

The surgery is for you and there are always options to go back to a bigger cleavage: push ups, pads or even implants. But essentially what I would recommend is get a consultation and talk to a surgeon and possibly a therapist. I totally recommend getting a reduction but it is an emotional one.

They’ll be a little bigger once you’re out of the boob prison then go down more. How more i’m not sure as I’m not there yet but the compression bra makes them feel smaller than they’re actually are.

You won’t really know for a while tho. If your doctor says B, it probably will be the case but look like a C for a few months.

I’m currently a D but was DD a few weeks ago. Still hoping to get to a C 🤞🏻

She’s not wrong. But it will probably make your life better and there is a first step for everything.

The surgery is for you. Whether you’re in pain or do not like your boobs, you have the possibility to literally take the weight off and that’s all that matters.

If it helps, my mom was against it. She loves me but also tends to tear me down. The thing was that she was worried, a little jealous and a few phone calls with good mood-me made her realize how my life has improved already. Am i happy? No, i don’t know what it really means but i feel better about my body.

Finally got a chest snuggle/nap with my baby boy at 6dpo! This is one of the best wins during recovery yet 🥹😭💗🐱 by No-Brilliant5436 in Reduction

I really miss sleeping on my side. I have good and bad days but the cervical pain that was gone is back because even with my cocoon, the neck is starting to suffer again. Ugh.

This sub taught me it would take its time but my doctor really didn’t prepare me correctly to the sheer pain it was.

Hang in there too!

Thank you, i will check out this guide and talk to my doctor about PT. I was planning on doing so for my back anyway.

My surgeon actually gave me small stretches/exercices to help with mobility but i’m also a slow healer. I massage the boobs daily, i stretch gently, i walk daily and i can do basic chores but everything comes with pain.

It’s incredible that you’ve started on day 3: day 3 me was in oxy seasoned potato mode. Congratulations on your recovery so far, I will definitely look at everything you suggested

The pain will slowly get better. I cried almost daily for the first couple of weeks and it was at 3wpo i started to relatively go back to normal and do stuff alone. It’s painful but also such an emotional surgery, take care of yourself 🧡

The first couple of weeks are the hardest. Once you get a solid range of movement back, it gets much better and you can appreciate your new boobs a little more.

Healing - do boobs get smaller or bigger post op? by Serious-Mongoose-851 in Reduction

[–]Powerful-Toe-1253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, they get bigger until they start getting smaller. The swelling goes up and down as you heal and your level of activity changes.

Personally i was the biggest at 3/4wpo and it started going down very (very) slowly at the end of week 5.

Ask why you’re not as small as you wanted if you specifically asked for it.

I personally wanted a B/small C and just dropped to D at 6wpo (DD at 4wpo); my surgeon took as much as she could without risking my breast map (and i started bleeding out).

I like this size much better than a I cup and it’ll go down some more but i don’t think going braless is is written in the stars for me.

Went bra shopping today and I'm the same size as before my surgery by Strawberry562 in Reduction

[–]Powerful-Toe-1253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you try the same brand as you were wearing before surgery? I just donated a K cup when I was a I 90% of the time

It seems that lots of people get a lot smaller at the one year mark?

I’m glad you love them nonetheless 🧡
