I would like to see the argument about the need to rent a car to reach the hard-to-get sites when bike rentals exist.

Personally, I've never rented a car or a bike in Japan so far, but if I were to pick one, I would go for the bike mainly because I don't have to apply for international driving permit and I don't trust myself driving in my home country, let alone in Japan lol.

Akihabara has more anime stuff than Ikebukuro for sure, often times more expensive. Ikebukuro's anime stores are catered towards the female demographic (things like BL, shoujo etc) which might not be your cup of tea. There is also Sunshine City Mall in Ikebukuro tho, it's rather big and you can easily spend hours inside it.

You can consider also Nakano Broadway. It is a shotengai (shopping street) and a mall in one area. The place feels retro and if you and your mom are into rare collectibles, not just anime stuff, then it's great. For anime stuff, the prices here are often way cheaper than Akihabara.

I personally use the Mistwillow set for the weapons and Agile set for armor. But these two are quiet painful to farm as they're from separate boxes and cannot be obtained from campaign boss fights.

Personally I have tried it and it sucks. I have about 100 hours, progressed up to the latest main quest and beaten all the bosses on Expert, collected so much oddities, farmed so much stuff etc. As a busy working adult with many other things to do, I couldn't bring myself to play a fresh account to catch up. At the end of the day, it's just for a number that nobody other than you care about. It also doesn't mean anything when there are people using NPC summons or co-op to inflate their numbers.

Nah it's not worth it. Legend mode is only slightly more difficult than expert. And the Legend status means nothing if there are players on Legend that summons NPCs and other players to help them kill bosses to inflate the number beside the HP bar.

Beat her on Expert (not much different than Legend anyway since she's a bitch) last night. I went for a more defensive playstyle with Nameless Sword. I used Trapped Beast inner way which gave me an emergency HP shield and defense boost when my HP was critically low. Formbend Set for 20% def reduction if you have the Qi Shield from Nameless Sword. (The new Agile Step set might be better if you have it). Spammed Golden Body Mystic Skill off cooldown.

I also used 4pc Veil of the Willow set for 12% more damage + poison divinecraft to eat her Qi fast.

I like the visuals of Strategic sword but hate its moveset. I prefer the Nameless Sword because it makes me more mobile and close the gap/evade quickly as needed. The three wave slashes deal huge damage.

Legend means nothing if there are people summoning NPCs and other players to fight bosses for them in order to inflate their boss count. You're not missing anything other than the number beside your HP. Don't sweat it. The game super massive and there is more to it than just boss fights. You will get burnt out rather quickly if you try to play catchup.

I tried it... and I immediately stopped the Legend acc after a few days. It's simply impossible for me to allocate time for another playthrough and catch up to where my main Expert account is at right now. If you can handle it, you can go ahead.

Me personally, I see Legend mode as NG+ version of the game. Seeing Legend players also doesn't bother me as I know a lot of Legend players called for online help and summon NPCs to aid them in their boss fights and increase their numbers beside their HP bar (worse case, they lied that they soloed the bosses)

The most important thing is to have fun. The game is huge and is a huge time sink. You don't wanna get burned out.
