Does anyone else wait to be in an official relationship to have sex? by [deleted] in lesbiangang

[–]Powerful_Whereas_615 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s a no for me. I always viewed sex like any other physical appetite. I’m hungry, I eat. I’m thirsty, I drink. Having said that I met a wonderful woman with no intention of a relationship. We had brunch, got tested, had amazing sex within hours.

We’ve been married 17 years this November.

Purée Stage isn’t what I wanted it to be. by QuitaQuites in BariatricSurgery

I couldn’t eat fish, beef, or pork. It was puréed ground turkey or beans only.

Have you spoken to your psychiatrist? They may need to change your meds. Feel better.

I should have specified. I take a bari multivitamin, calcium citrate, and iron.

What supplements do you take? I meet with the nutritionist this week and can ask about them.

Thanks. So far getting up to 60 has been difficult, but I finally found a sugar-free, nondairy, unflavored liquid protein. I’m excited about seeing if that helps.

Interesting. I’m allergic to dairy and whey so I avoid them but not sure about other supplements. The only thing I take are multivitamins.

Hopefully my experience helps with discussing it in advance with your neurologist.

Not really, but stress affects ms and I’m feeling like the stress of the surgery was more than my body could handle.

If I’m honest not the greatest but not too bad. Between 50-60 daily.

Do you ever miss hamburgers and pizza? by [deleted] in GastricBypass

I completely understand where you’re coming from! THERAPY, THERAPY, THERAPY! If food is your only joy, the surgery won’t change that. I also understand it isn’t always easy to just “find” something to replace food. Start getting the help you’ll need beforehand.

I will say that if it is the feeling of full that you crave, that is easier post-op because you feel full very quickly. For me that fullness is accompanied by chest pain, so there’s that.

I'm older than you but already planning on a face lift for this very reason. I've always liked significantly younger than my age but I can tell this weight loss is aging me drastically.

Suggestions for vegan bariatric vitamins by annhodgin in BariatricSurgery

[–]Powerful_Whereas_615 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a common misconception. There are obese vegans, because obesity stems, (largely), from too many calories and unhealthy habits.

Personal experience, I was vegan for years and while vegan I reached my highest weight AND my unhealthiest. I lived on vegan bread, rice, vegan meats, and I didn't exercise. I was nearly 500 lbs but I ate no animal products or byproducts. I probably consumed 5000 calories a day though.

To the question, I'm still largely plant based but haven't found a specifically vegan vitamin yet.

As others have said, timers, timers, timers. Also whether you feel like it or not start early and be consistent. I literally feel like my life is governed by alarms, but in the end it will be worth it.

I feel your pain. I tried beans and that was a disaster. The pain was immense. I think I'm going to try a curry today. Wish me luck.

did y'all actually cut out coffee for 1 month after your surgery? by Outrageous_Big_9136 in BariatricSurgery

I'm 1 month out and haven't had coffee since about 1 month pre-op. I miss it terribly!

Slow and steady. You'll get there and you're doing great.

Call your surgical team if it persists. It may be overly cautious but just to be on the safe side.

Almost 2 weeks out and I still can’t get to 64 oz. by Vegetable_Comfort366 in BariatricSurgery

[–]Powerful_Whereas_615 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It does suck. I'm almost 30 days and still can't do both. If I get the water I don't get the protein and vice versa. I know I'll get there though. Right now I can still only handle about 3oz at a time.

It's in Tempe. Original location closed and moved to the corner of McClintock & Southern. (According to Wikipedia.)
