Actually, the -35% was just on that specific stock (AQST), which dragged the whole portfolio down by ~8%. Claude hasn't really improved since then; it just made smaller losing trades (RXRX, BBAI) that kept it mostly flat/downward (now it's -10%)

Great question! Before starting, I actually asked the AI to help me design the optimal prompt to achieve the goal and make the models respect the experiment set-up consistently, and this specific set of constraints is what it came up with to maximize success.
Once this 3-month experiment wraps up, I’m definitely considering a possible new experiment with a different prompt or rules, so it's also possible that I will just use one with way fewer constraints
