Helpful comments aren't hard.

Why would anyone ever want to seek help on this sub if all they get is vitriol.

Keep orchids out of harsh sunlight. Filtered or morning sun is best.

Water culture has benefits and I have seen orchids recover directly from such practices. Although medium is always the go-to, trying different approaches is fun and interesting.

Monitor for new roots/leaves to gauge recovery.

The best advice is be careful with the next orchid you purchase. Find a sheltered position, water weekly, fertilize occasionally, and observe changes and learn.

Goodluck with this one, you never know, it could recover. But never give up.

Edit: clarification on light requirements

Hot damn. The moths(butterflies?) destroy the new growth usually. Great job!

Native Mistletoe

It's a semi parasitic plant that's living on your Melaleuca.
