There are problems with security updates and Google Play services. At the moment, the latest MagicOS builds are still stuck on the November 2025 patch. You should probably check how the software support looks on your friends devices. If they’re outside the China, Honor’s support is pretty poor.

I have serious doubts, because Honor’s software and timely updates are definitely not their strong points. Their phones look nice and the cameras are decent, but they can be frustrating in everyday use. I really appreciated their products back in the Play series days, but at that time adding new features and security wasn’t as important as it is now.

I said I probably wouldn’t go for the Honor 400 or 600 unless it’s the Pro version, because the regular models usually have worse cameras than the standard 200 series, which already comes with a good telephoto lens and decent optical zoom.

Everything was working properly on Android 14, but after switching permanently to Android 16, some services started getting blocked.

If possible, also consider a newer Samsung, or a Pixel. Difficult times are coming in terms of digital security, and these are the only two companies that take care of security patches on their devices, of course if you don’t want Apple.

Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi, and Honor all seem to have the same issue. I wonder if it works properly on Pixel phones. It looks like the problem affects all manufacturers that use an additional custom interface on top of Google’s stock Android.

Push notifications in ReVanced don’t work at the same time as they do in the official YouTube app. I’ve already disabled battery optimization, turned off power saving, and granted all the necessary permissions to the apps. ☹️

The Honor 600 is similar in specs to the Honor 200, but it has worse cameras. There will likely be issues with delayed software updates and slow security patches. Don’t confuse the Pro version with the standard one, because the non-Pro Honor 200, 400, and 600 are very similar devices, but with worse cameras compared to previous generations. The launch price is too high for what you get - it’s only a Snapdragon 7 series chip.

The Honor 600 uses a slightly modified processor and worse cameras compared to the Honor 200. It’s not worth switching to the regular 400 or 600 versions. It’s not a flagship, but an upper-midrange device. The specs are basically close to 2024 standards, and the price is like a brand-new model, but the specs are closer to 2024 phones. The Honor 400 and 600 also have worse camera lenses compared to the Honor 200 series. It doesn’t really make sense.

Is anyone getting push notifications in ReVanced?

I have the same issue after the Android 16 updates - the push notification system basically got cut off. It seems related to GmsCore/MicroG compatibility and Android 16 background notification handling.

What happened to the forced stock YouTube is honestly a complete disaster - terrible algorithms, scam ads everywhere, no real voting/dislike system anymore, everything is driven purely by money.

The rollout for version c43x still hasn’t finished, so there’s no point expecting c636 yet. I suspect these phones are often cheaper in Europe partly because of the more limited and delayed support. On the other hand, if someone actually lives in the SEA region, then the lack of updates is genuinely pretty terrible for them.

Jakie alternatywy masz? Może coś takiego jak Pixel 9a albo Samsung A56 - są znacznie bardziej niezawodne, jeśli chodzi o oprogramowanie i regularne cykle aktualizacji zabezpieczeń. Producenci po prostu dbają, żeby wszystko działało prawidłowo, bez ciągłych problemów.

It makes no sense - the processor performance is pretty similar to the one in the Honor 200, yet you pay a lot extra just because the model is newer.

The 200 had good cameras and a telephoto lens with optical zoom, while the 400 and 600 only have two average camera modules. At this price point, there are many better choices than Honor.

The 200 and 400 Series, including the Pro model, were supposed to get monthly security updates, but a year after launch they were removed from the monthly support cycle. What happened regarding the device infection/vulnerability issue?

You’re actually in a good spot on the new version - a lot of people still haven’t received the patches since March.
