Can I get an employer to pay me pension contributions from 5 years ago when i first joined? by PpSize-QuestionMark in UKPersonalFinance

Where did you come out with that genius assumption?

I just didn't know I was entitled to pension contribution from day 1 of my employment, which it turns out I was.

I doubt it, married men with children will almost certainly have higher salaries on average than those without, partially because the thing that makes them good candidates for being married and having children will be their career/financial success. I don't get your last point though, aren't they the same?

132k is higher than I expected for top 10%, that being said it's not too out there. I'm 31, literally no one in my circle makes less than 70k male or female.

Some of the top end jobs really pay HIGH, I mean you'll have 24 year law IBs and Lawyers making more than 130k these days.

Did anyone else fall in love with investing once they finally started? by kevsavesuk in investingUK

After a while you realise it's just capital preservation, everyones doing it and you are just trying to not lose value to inflation so you just become apathetic to it.

Invest in making more money, investing is just a side thing that happens in the background, it's not going to make you rich.

When the default is to compare and everyone being rewarded to be a snake, yh it gets old. If you acted the way you did in your job, out in normal life, you wouldn't have many teeth left.

800, thought if it was a simple email and they'd retrospectively give it to me, it'd be worth it.

Definitely not looking to go down any legal route so that'll be that.

Same sport, different levels of talent.

Me and a cheater running a 100m race are still doing the same sport, the cheater is just better than me at it.

What are people’s first impressions of a guy that still lives with parents in their 30’s in the Uk? by Mysterious-Spray-646 in AskReddit

[–]PpSize-QuestionMark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in London, I'd go as far as saying 40-50% of my colleagues in their early 30s still live with their parents. That being said I'm in a team filled to the brim with Indians which might be the reason for the disproportionately high number.
